$29 for a Take and Grout Mosaic Mirror Workshop ($60 Value)

In three hours, students draw from an arsenal of stained-glass pieces, ceramic tiles, and found objects as they craft an expressive, 10"x10" mosaic mirror. All materials are included, and students can also tote along their own jewelry pieces or mementos to complete their vision. After putting the final touches on their masterpiece, students learn the basics of grouting so they can finish their piece at home with their choice of grout after it dries for at least 24 hours. For an additional fee of $10, students can leave their piece with the teacher, who can carefully grout the work and ready it for pickup on a later date. See the class page for available dates and times.

VisArts

A nonprofit community arts center, VisArts fills its studios with artists learning techniques of creative expression, and acts as an exhibition opportunity for seasoned creators. Classes span a wide artistic spectrum, including concentrations such as ceramics and glass, many of which can be specifically tailored for the educational needs of children or resurrected Renaissance men in need of a new hobby. VisArts also enriches the community with a trifecta of galleries—the Kaplan, Gibbs Street, and Common Ground—and a thriving resident-artist program.
