Art helps people reach a wide audience without shouting from the top of radio towers, provocatively dancing behind a local TV field reporter, or tying speech bubbles to migrating birds. Express yourself with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $19.99 for a 3-hour Cocktails and Canvas class (a $40 value)
Each student gets an 11"x14" canvas with an outline of the evening's chosen painting already sketched across it. Over a glass of wine and complimentary sodas and snacks (additional wine or beer available for purchase), the instructor helps students fill in the lines with vivid acrylic paints.
- $29.99 for a 2.5-hour Sip and Stroke class (a $60 value)
Sip and Stroke sessions begin with a wine tasting and chocolate or cheese pairings from a local wine expert. Then, each student gets a set of four wine glasses to paint with guidance from an instructor. Students may purchase additional wine during the session, and bottled water is provided.
A nonprofit community arts center, VisArts fills its studios with amateur artists learning techniques of creative expression, and acts as an exhibition opportunity for seasoned creators. Classes span a wide artistic spectrum, including concentrations such as ceramics and glass, many of which can be specifically tailored for the educational needs of children or resurrected Renaissance men in need of a new hobby. VisArts also enriches the community with a trifecta of galleries—the Kaplan, Gibbs Street, and Common Ground—and a thriving resident-artist program.
