Questions and Answers

I saw someone ask a question pertaining to reviews of this deal but I can't find any reviews here on groupon for this deal. Where are those reviews?

im not sure where the Groupon reviews are, i know there are others on yelp and google for you to review

Alan S. answered 1 year, 1 month, 15 days, 1 hour, and 30 minutes ago

Why are there so many bad reviews on this groupon for the herald square's MACY's i hear people getting ripped off!!! .. you should speak with your associates who work at the macy's on 34th st.

the way that they are listed unfortunately are the negatives first and the positives hidden in a folder. we have 10xs the positive then negative but they are hidden. i recommend when you go in the store, you let them know the price range you want to be in and find the nicest glasses in that range including your lenses. we have frames and lenses under the $225 price and over. just let them know where you want to be. everybody is told the price before they purchase so there aren't any surprises.

Sorry, one LAST question. In a previous response to Joanne's question (3 days ago) on using the groupon value towards lenses only, the answer was NO. Just wanted to clarify. This is what I would like to do: Use the $55 Groupon towards an eye exam and a new pair of Progressive lenses in my existing frames. I can pay the difference, if there is any. Is this possible?

Fareeda E. asked 1 year, 1 month, 15 days, 11 hours, and 4 minutes ago - 1 answer

Alan S.

yes you can. the deal is meant to be for complete pair but this is fine using your own frame.

Alan S. answered 1 year, 1 month, 15 days, 10 hours, and 47 minutes ago

Can I use my existing frame and get new Progressive lenses fit in to them after the eye exam?

Fareeda E. asked 1 year, 1 month, 15 days, 11 hours, and 14 minutes ago - 1 answer

Alan S.

this is meant to be for complete pairs but you can have lenses done in your own frame. yes!

Alan S. answered 1 year, 1 month, 15 days, 11 hours, and 8 minutes ago

Does this price include Progressive lenses also? Is it possible to pay extra and get these if possible?

Fareeda E. asked 1 year, 1 month, 15 days, 11 hours, and 28 minutes ago - 1 answer

Alan S.

yes you can get progressives. if they go over the $225 allowance, you merely pay the difference or deduct the $225 from the total bill

Alan S. answered 1 year, 1 month, 15 days, 11 hours, and 21 minutes ago

I don't think I need a prescription, but if I purchase this groupon can I still get the eye exam and if I don't need a prescription uses the group on to just purchase the frames?

Erica H. asked 1 year, 1 month, 15 days, 15 hours, and 44 minutes ago - 1 answer

Alan S.

absolutely or get a pair of non prescription sunglasses

Alan S. answered 1 year, 1 month, 15 days, 14 hours, and 2 minutes ago

Oh, I'm sorry, one more question. Can you combine this coupon http://visionexpressny.com/specials.html with the groupon, if you are getting super expensive lenses?? That would be awesome :)

Sarah M. asked 1 year, 1 month, 16 days, 2 hours, and 17 minutes ago - 1 answer

Alan S.

it's not designed to combine coupons, but having said that we will try and work with you if we can and apply something for you

Hi, I am interested in redeeming this over the weekend. I am concerned because I thought the 3 brands you mention in the "fine print" were just suggestions. Does this actually mean that we HAVE to buy from those brands, or can we buy any frames you carry? Are there any restrictions, because I read on Yelp that some people complained they were not allowed to buy lower cost frames, they had to purchase higher-end frames. I have a prescription for progressive trifocals, but my glasses broke and I need to replace them. I am concerned because it's looking like this is going to be WAY more expensive than I could have got at Cohen Fashion Optical in my area even without a Groupon. If your lenses alone for progressives START at $199, how much are the frames? I'm not planning on paying more than $150 outside the cost of the Groupon I paid for... otherwise I will just wait until October when my insurance covers a replacement, and just super glue them together! So I'm sorry... what I need to find out is what exactly the price range is going to be for the complete glasses and exam. For me, that would be: progressive trifocals, plastic frames (I will work within the cheapest ones!), scratch coating, UV coating and if you have it, glare and/or fog coating. Also need to know if I'm stuck with those 3 brands of frames, or could choose whatever I want. FINALLY... do you accept Macy's gift cards for the remainder amount? Thanks!

Sarah M. asked 1 year, 1 month, 16 days, 2 hours, and 21 minutes ago - 1 answer

Alan S.

you can choose any frame in the store you want. if they are under the $225, you pay nothing extra. if they are over, you deduct $225 from the total price. you choose from roughly 1000 frames and any type of lenses. the 3 brands were just examples. now to your final question. you can get progressives and a nice selection of frames and exam and anti reflective and UV for the $150 copay or under. depends on your taste in frames. if you need Prada and Dior-you pay more. if you take a nice fashionable frame-you are fine. when you go in tell them you dont want to pay more then $x and they will show u the nicest styles in that price range

Alan S. answered 1 year, 1 month, 15 days, 14 hours, and 4 minutes ago

Thank you for answering my question. So to clarify your answer, I can pay $55+ an extra $69 and walk out with a glasses exam, a pair of eye glasses worth $225, a contact lens exam and a prescription to know which contacts to purchase? All for $124?

Daniela M. asked 1 year, 1 month, 16 days, 9 hours, and 31 minutes ago - 1 answer

Alan S.

yes. assuming that your contacts are not specialty. by that i mean toric (astigmatic, bifocal, mono vision, or RPG). this assumes we dont give you the contacts, you get them elsewhere

Alan S. answered 1 year, 1 month, 16 days, 5 hours, and 59 minutes ago

Is this eye exam for glasses only, and if so would I be able to pay a little extra for a contact lens exam along with the included glasses eye exam? How much would this cost on top of the $55? Also, to clarify the contact lens exam would include a prescription so I could buy them elsewhere since I want to buy them separately.

Daniela M. asked 1 year, 1 month, 16 days, 22 hours, and 20 minutes ago - 1 answer

Alan S.

the contact lens exam for a regular exam is $69 extra. once the doctor checks you out, and is certain the contacts are right for you, you will be given a written copy that you can use anywhere
