I already hold a SEL PPL. Could I use this groupon towards a intro/sign off flight to start renting/training with the school? I have never flown with this school.

do they not teach you to land? lol

So glad this is being reoffered, I missed it the first time around!

I’m glad this is being offered again. I tried it the first time and it was great. Today I’m buying a gift.

Can i bring a friend to sit in the back? If so is there a charge?

Lisa A.

I went to the website and saw that kids in their early teens can learn to fly and take lessons there – just cannot solo until 16 or 17 but the groupon says you have to be 16. I don’t understand. I would love to start my son, it’s all he talks about.

Is there a certain number of these Groupons that can be bought before the deal will be sold out?

Iuliia L.

to Judith D

Yes you can bring a friend .They charge extra $30 for a friend.

As i understand the deal has two parts, air and ground.
on the ground you are 30min lesson. How long do you spend in the air? do you actually get to fly the plane?

Brent M.

I just had my flight this past weekend…It was pretty cool!

You have a short 30 minutes where the pilot talks to you about some of the important gauges and controls.

After that, you go out to the plane for a 30 minute flight. The Cessna 172 has dual controls, and you get to sit in the left hand seat (the pilot’s seat!). The instructor controls the throttle, and you get to do pretty much everything else but the landing. Of course with dual controls, the instructor is making corrections for you so you don’t go into a crazy spin and stuff.

It was an awesome experience, and it counts towards the 40 hours minimum time needed to get a pilot’s license!

@Lisa A. – The other person that was there when I was was 13, and with his mom. You should check with the school to make sure, you might just have to sign a waiver or something.

Lisa A.

Thanks a million! I will do that!

I want to surprise my 17 year old daughter with a lesson for her birthday. Does anything one think a helicopter or airplane would be the best experience.

Crystal V.

Dawn, I am 19 & personally wouldn’t care which one my mom surprised me with for my birthday, I would love either one!! I would just save yourself some money & go with whatevers cheapest!!

My son (whose 11th birthday is in 5 days) went up this week with the manager (Zeeb?)- he LOVED it! He wants to go again as soon as possible. Check out his landing on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ewh5dWfCtnY (he brought it in with verbal instruction from the pilot and a little tweaking).

Diana M.

this was a great experience! I took it with my brother and the Pilot was amazing.
