Today, one in eight people does not have access to safe drinking water, the lack of which is the leading cause of disease and death in the world. To help their families survive, millions of girls and women around the world walk an average of 3.7 miles a day to collect water, often from polluted sources, preventing them from attending school or learning a trade. Led by founders Matt Damon and Gary White, Water.org has bolstered hundreds of communities in Africa, South Asia, and Central America by improving access to safe drinking water and sanitation.

The subject of many United Nations, World Health Organization, and UNICEF studies on the benefits of clean water and sanitation, Water.org works with local partner organizations and community members to establish technology and hygiene education appropriate to each region. For only $25, Water.org can bring one person clean drinking water for life, conferring benefits such as improved health, increased school attendance, and reduced child and maternal mortality, plus opening the door to new opportunities in food production, education, and business. In the last year, Water.org has given more than a quarter of a million people access to clean drinking water and a sanitary toilet, saving innumerable lives in the developing world.

Join G-Team and donate $15 to help Water.org provide people with clean drinking water. An anonymous donor will supplement each pledge with a $10 donation, up to a total of $20,000 in matching funds. If G-Team members raise $8,000, Water.org can build one well in a developing country, providing an ongoing resource for clean water for an entire community. Any additional funds raised will contribute to getting more people access to clean drinking water.
