Westport Yoga

Westport Yoga’s owner and head instructor, Kate Lindholm, considers herself a lifelong student of yoga. For more than a decade, her passion for learning has led her to study under a number of prominent instructors. But in her words, Kate’s journey only truly began when she discovered the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali in 2005. This ancient text heavily influenced her teaching style, providing her with 196 aphorisms around which to base her classes in hot-flow, Vinyasa, classical, and restorative yoga. Kate has shared her knowledge with her staff, who lead classes in a variety of yoga and levitation styles, and who were named Best Yoga Studio 2014 by Kansas City Pitch.

“The one issue I've always had with yoga is trying to follow too many inhale-exhale instructions. I did NOT have that issue with this studio! The instructor used the phrase "your own breath" throughout the class which really made me feel in control of the poses and stretches instead of being caught up in whether I'm breathing in or out at the wrong time. I really enjoyed this approach and will continue going to this studio. ”

  • “Cute place. Maris Aylward is a great instructor.”
