Additional time may be added to the rental options at $15 per hour per person or $35 per two hours per person. The shores of Armand Bayou Nature Center’s wildlife refuge and wilderness preserve present two rare ecosystems: a coastal flatwoods forest and a coastal tall-grass prairie. These lands are home to more than 220 species of birds, including ospreys, herons, and pelicans, who spend their days gliding across the water and over the brush. Whaz SUP's team gives clients an up-close view of these fowl and their natural habitat by renting standup paddleboards and leading guided tours along the preserve and other waterways throughout Bay Area Park. Each outing gives guests a steady, all-over workout that engages the core and helps paddlers fit into their high-school cummerbunds.
