Seeing the world by bike beats seeing the world by spaceship, as space shuttle tours are often ruined by lack of oxygen and guides who deliver facts by shouting them in Neptunian. Enjoy the calm of an oxygen-enriched trek with this Groupon.
$15 for $30 Worth of Rental Bikes and Outdoor Gear
This Groupon is valid for bicycle rentals, bicycle-vehicle rentals, and other outdoor-gear rentals, such as a cruiser ($8/hr.) or tandem bike ($15/hr.). See the full lists of available rentals at the Pismo Beach locations on the Beach or scenic Highway 1. Armed with maps, helmets, locks, and lists of noteworthy sites, riders pile into surreys ($20/hr.), deuce coupes ($20/hr.), or chopper-style cycles ($10/hr.) and embark on treks across miles of pristine beach, atop a 1,370 foot wooden pier, or through a shop-lined downtown district. Along the waterfront, riders can stop to stare into one of the many tide pools, dolphin watch, or frolic among more than 50,000 monarch butterflies in the Monarch Butterfly Grove about a half a mile south of the beach. Wheel Fun Rentals recommends wearing comfortable clothes and shoes and bringing along sunglasses, sunscreen, and a camera.

Wheel Fun Rentals
When Brian McInerney reflects on the humble beginnings of Wheel Fun Rentals, Inc., he points to his childhood passion for bikes. "As far back as I can remember, I had a real love affair with bicycles," he recalls. During a trip to Italy in 1987, Brian's affinity for cycling blossomed into a full-fledged obsession when he spotted locals' transporter of choice, the surrey. Inspired, he began importing the Italian four-wheelers to a rental business in the U.S. that eventually expanded into Wheel Fun Rentals, now a nationwide web of shops that also loans out bikes, electric cars and mopeds, and man-powered watercraft. Adventuresome athletes can also compete in activities such as surrey scavenger hunts and blindfold obstacle courses navigated via shouted instructions from a seeing teammate or exceptionally long rounds of trial and error.
