Ground lessons cover the basics of kiteboarding without entering the water. International Kiteboarding Organization–certified instructors teach you how to set up equipment, pilot a training kite, and read wind conditions.

Towed behind this vessel, a kiteboarder weaves through the water before she soars into the air, carried beneath a colorful kite. These private charters are only one way Wind Addict's crew introduces people to the gravity-disobeying world of kiteboarding. The International Kiteboarding Organization–certified instructors teach wakeboarding basics and ground lessons to impart the basic skills that comprise kiteboarding. Then, they help students launch and lift into the air using four- and five-line kites or a particularly friendly pelican, all while maintaining strict safety guidelines.
