Windsor Arms Hotel Tea Room

Hollywood starlet Elizabeth Taylor was once proposed to in the Windsor Arms Hotel Tea Room by her Cleopatra co-star Richard Burton. More recently, Hilary Swank and Julia Roberts stopped by for a cup of hot tea. High Tea has been an afternoon institution at the elegant Windsor Arms Hotel since 1927. Three tearooms—one in their French-style lobby, the other a majestic purple space with an original working fireplace, and the third with a tribute to the Russian Czar era—accommodate up to 60 people during a single service. Guests choose from a selection of more than 30 loose-leaf teas as well as nibble on fresh sandwiches and scones with preserves.

Reviews

  • Above all, the intimate ambiance and pretty teacups almost made me feel like royalty!
    Precilla C., Yelp, 1/20/12
  • I particularly loved the scones: fluffy on on the inside, but still dense enough to hold up to a generous slathering with jam and clotted cream.
    Avitania B., Yelp, 7/3/12
