After Capri Sun began creepily transforming people into amorphous metallic globules, wine rose to prominence, offering a similarly complex flavor profile without the threat of spontaneous melting. Celebrate wine, or "nature's Capri Sun," with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • For $55, you get a Grand Tasting ticket to the Holiday Wine Tasting (a $110 value). The Grand Tasting lasts from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

  • For $75, you get a VIP Tasting ticket to the Holiday Wine Tasting (a $150 value). The VIP ticket grants guests admission to the VIP Tasting from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., in addition to the Grand Tasting.

The Holiday Wine Tasting will take place Saturday, October 27, from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Washington DC – Convention Center. Guests can sample more than 250 wines from around the world, and VIP ticket-holders get access to an additional 80 top-notch tipples and head home with a copy of Pocket Wine Journal. Live jazz accompanies the VIP Tasting session, and a selection of bread and cheese cleanse palates between sips. Business-casual attire is required for all attendees, and all wines will be available for order from Chevy Chase Wine and Spirits.

The brainchild of enophile and host of his own PBS show about the joys of wine, Mark Phillips of WineTasting.org gently demystifies wine drinking, effectively eliminating snobbery from the process. With a humorous, conversational approach, Phillips lays low the notion that wine is a rarified, inaccessible pleasure, helping tasters identify the components of each pour to better appreciate and seek out the perfect wines for their particular tastes. In his regular tastings—classy hootenannies, often with live jazz and more than 250 varieties of wine—he brings together bottles from all over the world, creating more harmony among grape products than a California Raisins reunion concert. The events reward exploration with information about the varietals filling attendees in on each wine’s background, including where the grapes grow and what cuisine pairings work best with libations.

The Groupon Guide to: Baby Proofing Your Home

For some parents, keeping a new baby safe is their highest priority—even above their own comfort. What are some ways to make your home safe for the new baby?

  • Block exposed electrical outlets with a glob of nontoxic baby wax.
  • Replace curious, slobbering pets with more cuddly stuffed animal versions.
  • File down the sharp corners on any table or, better yet, throw your furniture out and eat everything standing over the sink.
  • Stop swearing! Babies can sense when you express your emotions in order to feel better—instead, keep it bottled up throughout their childhood.
  • Keep your newly safe house clean and organized by never bringing an unpredictable baby into it.

How can you keep your house safe for and from a baby?
