Choose Between Two Options

During this lesson, instructors provide a roughly one-hour preflight briefing before sending students skyward for 50–60 minutes of flight time. The quick jaunt through the clouds puts beginners at the controls while instructors watch from the passenger's seat, offering guidance and preventing the uninitiated from steering with their teeth.

  • $995 for an introduction-to-flying package (a $2,395 value)

This package provides students with 50 hours of dedicated ground-school instruction, combining lectures, group discussions, and practical exercises with four hours of in-flight training to impart the knowledge required to obtain either a private or instrument pilot license. The package also includes a Wings Aloft BFI membership, which grants access to Wings' stable of well-maintained planes and a loaner private pilot kit, which is required for the ground-school course. The loaner kit is included with this deal.

Wings Aloft BFI

Wings Aloft BFI's experienced flight instructors share their love of cloud wrangling during hands-on lessons that help pupils log hours of in-flight and ground instruction. The instructors are matched with students based on personality fits, and their instructional flight programs mix and match ground and in-flight lessons to teach students that staying airborne requires more than a pair of pigeon wings. The membership program also grants access to Wings Aloft's Cessnas, and rental of their planes allows pilots to fly from city to city with proper clearance and large jet-stream hearts.

The Groupon Guide to: Controversial Cookie Ingredients

Not all cookie ingredients are created equal. We collected some quotes from frequent cookie consumers about the cookie ingredients they love to not enjoy. How many of these people do you strongly disagree with?

Golden Raisins: Sally Amsterfield of Warburn, Maine, says: "More like golden hate 'ems!"

Chopped Dates: Bill Waxly of Pinoa, Idaho, says: "If you have a first date, there might not be a second—yuck!"

Coconuts: Former president B. Clinton of 123 Whitehouse Lane is quoted as saying: "You'd have to be coco-nuts to eat that stuff!"

Cranberries: Hero astronaut Vanessa Maybury reports from the International Peace Satellite Persephone: "We're running out of oxygen—from gasping for an edible cookie! These cranberries should be called bland-berries. Please send help, over.”

Peppermint Chips: Dave "The Diamond" Reynolds says: "This is the first I'm hearing of these. I guess they could be good in the right kind of cookie but definitely not for every day. How did you get into my home?"

What are the least popular cookie ingredients of all time?
