$19 for $60 Worth of Digital Conversion of VHS Tapes, Photos, Film Reels, and More

Services include conversion of videotapes into DVDs ($57.97 for three two-hour tapes) and conversion of 3-inch reels into DVD ($54.00 for six reels). The staff can also transfer photos, slides, and negatives onto a DVD ($59.78 for 122 photos).

The digitalization process begins on YesVideo's website, where customers select the formats of the videotapes, movie reels, or photos they want to submit. Customers can also submit photo albums, digital photos stored on flash drives, or slides and negatives. After completing their order, customers can ship items at their own cost or order a shipping kit. YesVideo then converts the materials into both personalized DVDs and private online content and ships them back to customers via UPS. Personalized DVDs can feature chapter breaks in video, custom soundtracks, and highlight reels created from the footage. Materials can also be viewed through a private online account that allows customers to post their materials to social-media sites or transfer them to their smartphones.

Examples listed above do not include applicable tax or shipping.

YesVideo

Old movies are full of treasured memories, and in some cases, literal treasure. When 90-year old Evelyn Weiner sent in her 16-millimeter film canister to YesVideo for digital conversion, a staff member discovered $3,100 in cash in the canister. The company quickly alerted Ms. Weiner of the bounty, which her late husband had stored away and forgotten. While YesVideo cannot promise such a dramatic financial return on investments, technicians unearth and modernize priceless memories through mail-in conversion services. Films and images receive a digitized update as the team transforms VHS, beta tapes, slides, and film reels. Personalized DVDs with convenient chapter divisions last longer than VHS tapes and make it OK to finally feed the VCR peanut butter. Online galleries of the content can be shared through Facebook, Twitter, and other social-media sites.

The Groupon Guide to: Victorian Housekeeping

Victorian England was a truly innovative time, and many of their practices are still used today. Give your home a timeless feel with these useful Victorian housekeeping tips:

  • One is advised to keep a hedgehog in one’s kitchen to track and consume winged pests. He should be given a ceremonial hat and epaulets and thusly referred to as one’s kitchen soldier.

  • When polishing one’s bronzed baby teeth and statues of weeping seraphim, one must never wipe in the vulgar counterclockwise motion.

  • Cleanse a room with fire should anyone have committed nudity in it.

  • Ease your toils by apprehending a passing waif and attach soaped mops to his stalwart feet. Then inform him that this Christmas he shall receive a portion of sweet meats. His excited dances will clean all that surrounds him. Once done have the police escort him to the debtors' prison.

  • Only tears of genuine repentance shall remove any stains from spilt food.

Why is history full of weirdos? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
