Choose from Five Options

  • $399 for six weeks of preschool childcare three days a week (an $820 value)
  • $499 for six weeks of preschool childcare five days a week (a $1,060 value)
  • $699 for three months of preschool childcare three days a week (a $1,540 value)

Parents may drop off children aged 3–5 starting at 6:30 a.m. and pick them up between 4:15 p.m. and 6 p.m. In an average day, kids take part in creative, interactive-learning exercises that might include arts and crafts, dramatic play, science, and language arts. The daily menu includes breakfasts, snacks, and lunches full of fresh fruit, whole-grain bread, and baked chicken and fish.

  • $570 for six weeks of enrichment-centered childcare for a child age 2–12 five days a week (a $1,140 value)

The enrichment-centered childcare is held at the Enrichment Center. The staff specializes in caring for children who have been diagnosed with autism and other neuro-developmental disorders including ADD, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, though children without these disorders are welcome, too. Each child's program is customized with a personalized schedule of occupational therapy, speech therapy, and psychological services, in addition to the daily classroom schedule. It is suggested that parents call the location before going to make sure they have all the necessary items for registration.

Youthland Academy

Recognized by Cincinnati Family magazine with a Best of Parenting 2011 award, Youthland Academy has been practicing a learning-by-doing philosophy for 30 years. At childcare sessions throughout the year, kids engage in age-appropriate educational programs that help preschoolers turn thought into language and middle schoolers turn numbers into upside-down words on a calculator. Among a full slate of programs at nearly two-dozen locations across the Midwest and South, an enrichment center also focuses on children faced with ADD, autism, and other neurodevelopmental challenges.

The Groupon Guide to: Cute vs. Creepy

Cute and creepy are two sides of the same coin, both exploiting vulnerability or out-of-the-norm behavior in order to elicit an instinctive response. In our stimulus-overload world, it can be difficult at times to tell the two apart—at least, without consulting this foolproof guide:

  • Blind date bringing you a brightly colored wildflower: cute
  • Blind date bringing you a brightly colored wild cockatiel: creepy

  • Father saying goodbye to his daughter after dropping her off at school: cute

  • Father saying goodbye to his daughter after serving her scrambled eggs: creepy

  • Animal with eyes exactly the size of a quarter: cute

  • Animal with eyes slightly larger than a quarter: creepy

  • Six-year-old niece taking your picture: cute

  • Six-year-old niece scratching your eyes out of the picture: super cute

Why do so many children scratch the eyes out of family photographs?
