This is Sarah from Groupon. There are 15 Z Pizza locations within about a 45 mile radius of Downtown, DC and all of them are participating in this promotion today. 13 are in Northern Virginia and 2 are in Maryland. They are:
VA: Alexandria (2), Arlington, Centreville, Dulles, Falls Church, Haymarket, Herndon, Leesburg, Lorton, Manassas/Woodbridge, South Riding, Springfield
MD: Rockville, Silver Spring

Not a good deal – these locations are far out, not really a “D.C.” Groupon. That, and I’m personally not interested in a crust “coaxed with bird calls . . .” Stupid.

I’m not a fan of chain store pizza parlors – and that’s what this is – check out the website, they are trying to sell franchises – nothing wrong with that, just makes it “McPizza” in my book.

while Z pizza may be a chain, its freaking fantastic and has a wide range of offerings. I’m in the I just bought a butt load of these camp.
Z-Pizza is without doubt the best pizza outside of New York and its ORGANIC too! they have great combination’s too – YUMMEEE is all i can say

To most of you, this may just be another pizza joint, but to me it’s AWESOME — it’s the only place in the DC area where I can get a GLUTEN-FREE pizza!
(Try to imagine a medically-necessary diet where you may not eat any wheat, barley, rye or oats…and then imagine going out to eat.)

Does this entire Groupon have to be used during a single visit? Also, is this generally the default for Groupons — that they must used during a single visit?
This is a great deal and an FANTASTIC pizza place! I agree – so glad to have a Groupon that I can use so close to home. LOVE the organic ingredients used here. Thanks Groupon!

You are correct – this Groupon needs to be used in one visit and you will not get credit or change back from zpizza if you spend less than $20. This is the case with all Groupon’s unless otherwise stated.

zpizza is everywhere and this is a great idea. I don’t think you all in metro dc can complain just because this is also in northern va and maryland. there are zpizzas in metro dc, too! I’m glad groupon is spreading the savings around.
So if I buy more than one discount certificate, then I have to use that at one visit only " this Groupon needs to be used in one visit " or does that mean you can use one groupon PER visit only? – thanks, this is amazing Pizza, started in Southern Cal. Awesome.

Each Groupon needs to be used all at once and you can only use 1 per visit. If you buy multiple Groupon’s today, they should be used for multiple visits to zpizza or gifts.

Hi, was really excited about tweeting this offer to my 32,000 followers. I did. Then within 2 seconds Twitter suspended my account for spam!!!! Really upset about this. Groupon-can you please email twitter and tell them to unsuspend my account. My request hasn’t been helped yet. Frustrating. Beware to all the tweeters…

Susan you’re wrong. Unos has gluten free pizzas, Tony’s in Fairlakes has them, theres a place in arlington with them, and Rustico in Alexandria :).
However I did get a bunch of these as I do love the Zpizza!
If I buy 5 “coupons” will I get 5 $10 coupons or 1 $50 coupon???

You’re right, I had forgotten about Uno’s GF pizza. But I’ve never tried it, as I’m too nervous about so much other gluten “floating” around the kitchen. (ZPizza claims to prepare the GF pizza in a separate area with dedicated GF pans, etc.) Have you tried the GF pizza in those stores you mentioned? I think I’ve read that some diners did not feel the pizza at Rustico was entirely GF…
I’m glad this isn’t “not really a D.C groupon”. God forbid they have groupons that apply to the Metro area and not just D.C.! Heavens no! I mean, what kind of site would do such and awful thing and betray their D.C. clientèle and dare offer deals to all those lowly VA and MD suburbanites, as if they are real people, yeah right.
Lisa get off yourself. no one cares about whether you think zPizza is a “McPizza” chain trying to suck the taste out of your snobby culinary life. I’m really glad you pointed out that you’re not a fan of this deal. As if that should somehow influence or have meaning to other people in discussing this deal.

Judging the quality of the food based on the website appearance or because it is a chain? I guess that makes you an idiot too. And Lisa, news flash for you: no one cares about your opinion.
Hey Groupon!!! I have a suggestion for a Groupon I would love to see. How about Great American Restaurants (Sweetwater Tavern, Coastal Flats, Carlyle Grand, u.s.w.). Awesome food, great beer (Sweetwater). Make this happen would you?
I had a problem with my zPizza groupon today.
This was my very first time buying groupon and I went to the Centreville zPizza today:

The manager told me they can’t accept it because they don’t know anything about this. He has never even heard of Groupon and he tried calling Groupon but no one picked up. He finally told me the best he could do is to give me $10 off my order, but my order has to be over $25.
I have never used a groupon before and I followed exactly what the instruction says. What was the problem?
P.S. I am going to post this on the current deal discussion as well since I don’t know if anyone participates to past deal discussion or not.

I just called the one in Centreville, VA. They will NOT accept the Groupon. I purchased two because this was close to my house. Now I can’t even use them. I’m very disappointed.
can the official groupon people please weigh in and say which locations will take the groupon? I don’t want to drive out to one of these places for nothing. what locations have people tried with success?

We did have a communication issue with the Centerville location of zpizza. Some people with Groupon’s were turned away over the weekend – but as of yesterday afternoon all of the staff had been notified about the promotion and knows to accept the Groupon’s. I will follow up with them one more time to confirm, but there shouldn’t be any future problems. Laurie did you call today, or yesterday?
All other DC area locations have been accepting Groupon’s with no issues.

I was very disappointed too considering I actually drove there and placed the order then found out zpizza wouldn’t honor the groupon. That Centreville one is the only one close to me and I bought 3 coupons because I saw zroupon staff Sarah stating that Centreville branch is one of them.
I called today at 5:45 p.m and was told they (Centreville location) will not take them. They said that they are all franchises and their location wasn’t accepting them. I ended up going to South Riding. They were very nice about it, and accepted it without any problem. The Centreville location is closer to me … but South Riding now has my business. ;-)
I just hung up with the zPizza in Centreville. I spoke to Mike and he confirmed that they ARE now accepting the groupon. I think I will use it tonight and put them to the test.

I just had the same problem 2 nights ago and Groupon has been great about refunding me. Contact customer support and they’ll take good care of you.
If anyone is interested in selling any zPizza groupons that they can’t use, please let me know.
I used mine last week at the Herndon Location without any problems. This is the second time I have purchased a zPizza Groupon. I was excited to hear from the Herndon store that a new zPizza will be opening up again in Merrifield.
Please keep bringing them back – the zPizza Groupons are great to have on hand when everyone in the house wants pizza!
The website only lists 7 locations near DC, and none of them are actually in DC. Can you tell me where the other 8 locations are? Thanks.
