Does this deal include the $25 application fee?

Joshua V.

Yup, says it does: “This Groupon covers the $25 membership sign-up fee in addition to your year’s membership (a $50 value) and a $50 driving credit. Click here to see complete rate info.”

Christy W.

My children live in DC and have given up their cars. Would this work for them or is it only good in Baltimore?

Sally J.

Any chance I could use this in Atlanta?

CS

It looks like you can add other drivers for $25. Is that applicable with this offer? Any limitations to who that add-on driver people could be?

Tom A.

I have a zipcar account, but never completed the application process by paying for it. I wonder if I would be considered “new.” I hope so!

What are the hours that I can pick up a zipcar? Thanks.

Tom A.

Josiah- I know cars are available 24 hours ago. It’s probably a lot easier to get one from 2am to 6am, then from 2pm to 6pm!

Sara K.

I was a customer of zipcar in NYC three years ago.

I now live in baltimore and would be getting a new account, could I still get this groupon and be considered “new?”

Hunter B.

I live in NY and planning a trip to OR. I was considering signing up for zip car to use there. So, two questions:

(1.) Is this Groupon valid only to those who live in Balitimore?
(2.) Can I use this Groupon to simply get the membership and then wait to use it when I travel to OR?

-Kind of the same question now that I look at it….
Thanks!

Thanks Tom.

@Christy W – Memberships are good for driving in any city, regardless of where you live. If you live in Baltimore, you can still drive vehicles in DC…and vise versa. However, this Groupon is for memberships and is only valid for the Baltimore metro area.

@Sally J – Similar question to Christy’s. You must reside in Baltimore to take advantage of this Groupon but you can drive cars in any Zipcar city.

@CS – You can add as many drivers as you would like. They’re subject to the same membership requirements as you are. They will be associated with your billing information.

@Tom – If you never paid us an application fee, you’re not registered as a member. You can go ahead and purchase this Groupon.

@Josiah – Zipcars are available 24/7/365.

Sara K - If you are a previous member of Zipcar, this Groupon does not apply, unfortunately. If you'd like to rejoin, please get in touch directly. toby
zipcar.com

@Hunter B – This Groupon is only valid for those that live in the Baltimore metro area.

Christopher P.

Please define the Baltimore metro area since its a very vague term. I reside in Gaithersburg, MD but work in both Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD. My billing address is Gaithersburg but I’d be renting vehicles and both DC and Baltimore. Am I eligible to purchase today’s deal as a new member?

@Christopher P. You are eligible to purchase today’s deal as a new member. Gaithersburg is within our Baltimore footprint. You are eligible for this Groupon to become Baltimore Zipsters.

Tom A.

Hey zip car: There seems to be a mistake here. You say the annual fee is $50. (“This Groupon covers the $25 membership sign-up fee in addition to your year’s membership (a $50 value”)

But when signing up, it seems that the annual fee is $60 if you take this deal— instead of the normal $50. Can you please clarify?

Tom A.

Everywhere I look it says the annual fee for the occasional driving plan is $50. I don’t see $60 mentioned anywhere! I’m not sure why zipcar is upping it by 10 bucks for those of us who are using groupon in Baltimore- other than to make us pay for the “deal” we are supposedly getting. Does anyone know more about this? I even looked in the contract, and it says (via a link) that the annual cost is $50. Groupon users are pretty smart and we notice these things!

@Zipcar – If I live in College Park would this offer still work?

Is there a minimum age to use the zipcar service?

Lauren R.

ZipCarBMore- I would like you to address Tom’s question publicly on this forum so that all of us understand the response instead of taking his question off-line, which strikes me as sneaky. Are you going to give him a special annual rate that the rest of us aren’t getting because he noticed the fine print and brought up the contradiction? I was going to purchase this, but now I am not so sure.

Anicha m.

Yeah I purchased this deal but after seeing how Zipcar is not responding to Tom’s question publicly for us all to see, I’m a little worried. PLUS they are going to charge me another $25 for the application fee, I went to complete all of this and I have to pay $25 today and then they say it will be refunded but this is not mentioned ANYWHERE with the Groupon or on zipcars website, I had to speak with 2 zipcar reps to find that out. i think zipcar is being very sneaky about this and they need to answer our questions PUBLICLY. I have zipcar account, this one I bought for my mother in baltimore but now I’m not feeling too sure about this. Zipcar, I hope your quality is not going down because I will cancel my current zipcar account and hop over to Philly Car share (here in philadelphia where I am located).

Sean S.

I was charged the $25 application fee and the $50 annual membership fee, in addition to the $35 groupon. I’ve spoken to Zipcar reps twice and they say they are looking into it. Sure is taking a long time to resolve the issue. Already been 8 days.

Tom A.

It’s been two weeks- but still no zipcard in the mail. Has anyone received theirs yet?
