Mounted police opt for equine transportation so that they don’t have to deal with the squad car's wailing thirst for gas and justice. Harness real horsepower with today's Groupon: for $30, you get two private horseback-riding lessons at De Equus Stables in Manitowoc (up to a $60 value). Lessons are available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The instructors at De Equus lead initiates aged 4 and older through the ins and outs of steering steeds during private lessons. During sessions, which include 30 minutes of riding time, students learn mount-piloting styles such as saddle seat, hunt seat, Western, and driving, as well as the benefits of filling their horse with unleaded oats. Instructors tailor lessons to riders’ desired goals, whether they are learning to ride recreationally or becoming world-class show-ring competitors. In addition to riding, students also learn how to groom and tack the noble beast, making them presentable for exhibitions or black-tie horse rodeos. Although De Equus provides helmets, they expect students to bring their own riding boots or heeled shoes.

The Groupon Guide to: Being a Good Friend
Though many of life's accomplishments are important—working as a reading tutor, not setting fire to every mailbox you happen to pass—only one accomplishment matters in the long run: being a good friend. Follow these friendship tips to separating besties from the resties:
• Every time you're drinking something, offer your friend a sip from your glass. If they decline, show them there's nothing to worry about by sterilizing your own mouth with a crème brûlée torch.
• Pick up the check whenever possible—but don’t stop there. Use your intimate knowledge of your friend to glean possible passwords to their online bank accounts and transfer their funds into a high-yield CD just in case they want to save up to go to college again.
• What's your friend's favorite animal? Do they own one yet? Could you conceivably get them one? Keep in mind that the word "impossible" was most likely invented by a bad friend.
