Once in a Burgundy Moon
A burgundy moon is as deep and rich as a glass of wine from the spa of the same name. Many colored moons, in fact, have cultural—even portentous—implications:
Blue Moon: The expression "once in a blue moon" is derived from the profound unlikelihood of finding an individual younger than 115 years old who knows the lyrics to the 1934 hit "Blue Moon."
Red Moon: Portends werevampires. If you're not holding your breath in a solid silver bathtub full of garlic and holy water, you're already one of them.
Green Moon: After the ragingly popular nuclear testing fad of the 1940s and 50s, many well-reasoned scientists and politicians noticed that the proliferation of nuclear weaponry and materials had potentially negative social and environmental consequences. As a result, in 1967, all remaining nuclear weapons were fired at the moon, where they promptly reacted with the moon's natural photosynthesis, creating a luminous radioactive green glow. This reaction oxygenates our oceans, which, as Darwin teaches us, are where babies come from.
