Despite baseball's unofficial theme song, peanuts and crackerjacks were replacements for the original, mid-1850s snacks of heavily salted licorice and wooden chewin' slabs. Keep your family traditions classic, but not too classic, with today's deal: for $10, you get two reserved seats, two hot dogs, and a personalized scoreboard message at an Arkansas Travelers baseball game (a $21 value). Games are at Dickey-Stephens Park downtown. Tickets are for the reserved seats section of the ballpark. Choose from six different games:

  • Thursday, July 22, at 7:10 p.m. vs. Northwest Arkansas Naturals
  • Thursday, July 29, at 7:10 p.m. vs. Springfield Cardinals
  • Monday, Aug. 2, at 7:10 p.m. vs. Tulsa Drillers
  • Thursday, Aug. 12, at 7:10 p.m. vs. San Antonio Missions
  • Monday, Aug. 16, at 7:10 p.m. vs. Corpus Christi Hooks
  • Thursday, Aug. 26, at 7:10 p.m. vs. Tulsa Drillers

A storied minor-league franchise for more than 100 years, the Arkansas Travelers have been the Double-A affiliate of the Anaheim Angels since 2001, serving as the stomping grounds for stars such as Francisco Rodriguez, Ervin Santana, and John Lackey and capturing Texas League championships in 2001 and 2008. With two tickets to a Travelers game ($8 each), you and a friend can witness this season's budding stars hone their swings and windups while you wash down bunts, base hits, and botched double plays with two hot dogs ($2.50 each). Prior to the sixth inning, dart to the information desk at Dickey-Stephens Park to drop off a message to be displayed on the stadium's 18' by 32' videoboard. Arkansas Travelers' baseball games are family-friendly experiences, so videoboard messages will be subject to review—meaning that messages should avoid vulgarity, obscenity, and complicated communications to alien overlords.

Present your Groupon at the will-call ticket office on the day of the game to claim your tickets and food vouchers. Groupon purchasers will also receive 10% off an order at Ump's Pub & Grill, featuring a menu of sandwiches, burgers, ribs, and other classic pub favorites. Celebrate America's pastime without conjuring up the good-times-loving ghost of Babe Ruth for the umpteenth time with tickets to an Arkansas Travelers game.

Groupon Says

Baseball History

Baseball's rich history is part of what makes the game America's pastime. Here are just a few of the greatest moments in baseball:

1909: Honus Wagner becomes baseball's greatest shortstop despite having no arms.

1947: Jackie Robinson breaks the color barrier, six wooden boards, and a pile of bricks when he mistakes his MLB debut for a karate tournament.

1985: The Cleveland Indians draft the entire cast of the film Major League four years before the film comes out.
