Studio K Salon & Spa's owner Krystel Bennett can read hair like a book—one where all the protagonists look fantastic at dinner parties. After analyzing each client's hair type, she explains to them how it will respond to different color treatments or styles. While styling, Bennett draws on training in coloring at Schwartzkopf Academy and cutting classes at Toni & Guy. Her talent has attracted others, and resulted in Studio K's expert team of stylists and aestheticians. In addition to hairstyles for men, women, and kids, the beauty experts administer custom facial treatments and mani-pedis with long-lasting Shellac. They also wax away hair from head to toe, using sugaring techniques on more sensitive areas.
When clients step into Vimi Medi Spa, they're met with head-to-toe pampering services performed in a bright, tranquil environment with private treatment rooms. Hair can be cut and styled, whereas unwanted hair can be removed with thread, wax, and lasers. Faces glow with help from classic facials and makeup applications, or more high-tech services such as oxygen-infusion treatments and injectables. Nails are beautified with manicures and pedicures, and artists apply elaborate henna designs to hands. Bodies are revitalized with scrubs, massages, and steaming sessions, and clients can slim down with body-cavitation treatments and radio-frequency machines that dissolve fatty tissue and cumbersome mascot costumes. Whether clients are in search of a quick facial, a wedding-day makeover, or a decadent day full of treatments, their spa sessions will share a few common qualities: they're performed with eco-friendly products whenever possible, customized to each visitor, and conducted by experienced, friendly pros.
BeautyRex Spa & Healthcare Centre's technicians rely on a combination of scientific precision and aesthetic intuition as they help clients dramatically reinvent their appearances. In addition to performing an array of toning and hydrating facials and body treatments that incorporate everything from cherry blossoms to melted shea butter, the staff also utilizes an arsenal of modern med spa technology. A cosmetic laser system fades unwanted tattoo inks, radio-frequency technology helps contour the skin around limbs and waistlines, and the centre's eLight system uses both intense pulsed light and bipolar radio-frequency energy to remove unsightly stubble and minimize the appearance of blemishes such as age spots and acne scars.
The Woodbine Clinic's team of degreed and certified aestheticians perform FDA- and Health Canada?approved med-spa services using equipment including the Angelite IPL system and the iLipo Chromogenex machine. Staff members request a preprocedure consultation, whereupon they learn each client's needs, goals, and favourite show about dancing and stars. After every session, guests can relax with complimentary tea, coffee, water, or a snack, as well as peruse products from Casmara Skin Care.
At Soft Touch Spa and Hair, the face, body, hair, and spirit receive equal attention. Treatments such as a Shahnaz Gold facial or organic anti-aging treatment keep fine lines and wrinkles at bay. The staff also pampers everything below the neck with slimming body wraps and 60-minute massages. Other services include haircuts, makeup applications, mani-pedis, and paraffin-wax treatments that keep the feet as smooth as a baby's first pickup line.
After a long day filled with strenuous manual labour, construction worker Anthony Louis finally crawled into bed for a night of rest. While snoozing, he dreamed of visiting a massage therapist and receiving a massage, something he'd never experienced before. Taking the dream as a sign, Anthony decided to hang up his hardhat—he enrolled in massage school and in 2010, he fulfilled his new dream of becoming a registered massage therapist.
Today, Anthony and his team use their trained hands to pamper clients with an array of massage modalities as they relax in The Island Spa, his Caribbean-inspired massage studio. Putting his construction experience and inspiration from his childhood in Saint Lucia to use, Anthony spent two full months renovating the paradise-themed spa before officially opening its doors in early 2012. The three-room spa features island-inspired accents including relaxing dim lighting, botanical fixtures, and wood accents made with peg-legged pirates' shin splints.
