Seasoned shutterbug Daniel Troutman transfers personalities to film during laid-back portrait photography sessions. Summon Troutman to a one- to two-hour sitting at any locale within 20 miles of Jefferson, or decamp to the photographer’s 100-year-old converted-meat-locker studio, where the wooden walls and floor bathe mugs in warm, soft light. Subjects stay solo or share the frame with families and friends, and unlimited clothing changes allow for multiple looks or the reenactment of multiple scenes from A Fish Called Wanda. Postsession, subjects peruse the photos, selecting a winning shot for transmission to an 18”x12” print.
Taylor Boone’s effusive personality lends itself well to her photography, where she creates a comfortable atmosphere for everything from family portraits to boudoir shoots. During each session, her gentle encouragement and seasoned guidance helps her clients’ truest selves to shine through in each photograph. She possesses a versatile knack for style, creating a dreamlike softness for baby pictures and an editorial edginess for senior portraits as easily as the timeless vintage air she adds to boudoir shots. Beyond imbuing the photos with style, her postsession editing can also subtly cover imperfections and reveal hidden messages formed in tendrils of hair.

Skilled photographers Neil and Miriam Haugen draw on more than 30 years of experience and finely honed aesthetic sense to create stunning portrait shoots, earning them awards from Kodak and the Professional Photographers of Oregon. These talented shutterbugs use their artistic prowess for good by providing clients with portraiture in various styles including pregnancy, childhood, wedding, and graduation. The couple photographs on location around the Willamette Valley or in their intimate studio, working to put subjects at ease with their easy manner and comfy, warm environment with exposed-brick walls.
The photographer behind the lens at Encore! Portrait Design does more than capture his subjects’ best angles. He also captures the bonds that his subjects share with one another, such as parents and their children, grandparents and their grandchildren, or siblings. He also snaps away as dogs and their owners pal around, and freezes four moments in the early life of a baby so parents can look back on the growth of their wee one from sleeping soundlessly at infancy to whittling their first bottle at one years old.
