Voted Best Butcher Shop in 2010 by D Magazine , Hirsch's Specialty Meats serves up a cornucopia of high-quality protein to satisfy discriminating palates. Hirsch's experienced meat carvers cut rumps and roasts to any specification, creating mouthwatering steaks, sandwich-ready slices, and the perfect meat sheets for food origami. Serve a feast of choice-grade beef rib eye ($10.99/lb.) and baby-back pork ribs ($6.99/lb.), or surprise the vagrant who lives in the garage with a platter full of fresh sausage ($4.99/lb.). Made on-site, sausages loll in the aroma of the smoke room’s different types of wood, which impart encased meats with every flavor, including pecan, sassafras, and sweet maple, on pork's toothsome taste rainbow.
The crunch of salt under foot. Soothing strains of spa music. The taste of salt on the lips. These sensations enrapture visitors to Salt Escape's halo-therapy chambers. Claiming accolades from CBS DFW and NBC DFW, experts have designed sterilized chambers to mimic the conditions of ancient salt caves once thought to grant healing properties. Between walls, floors, and ceilings coated in a layer of negative-ionized natural rock salt, Salt Escape works to create a spa environment filled with toys, café tables, and a stereo system to soothe adults and children more effectively than a night-light covered in honey. Halo-generators fill the air with controlled bursts of crushed salt, which generates a microclimate and assuages respiratory and skin conditions. To facilitate comfortable treatment sessions, staff members beckon visitors to recline in zero-gravity chairs, which cradle spines to neutralize the effects of gravity and recent rugby tournaments.

Staff members, all of whom are certified sports nutritionists, also discuss goals, diets, and other needs with clients, and share tips on maintaining a healthy BMI or choosing the best triple cheeseburgers to use as dumbbells.
Think back to the days before meats were pre-cut and packaged at your local one-stop shop.
