Cathy Moses Baldasserini studied dance and therapy and received full scholarships to New York dance conservatories such as Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey. She began practicing Pilates as a way to hone and refine her body, the instrument of her self-expression. Now, she teaches it full time at her fitness-dedicated studio, Pilates for Life.
Joined by nine other teachers, Cathy reforms students' bodies with both basic and machine-assisted Pilates, yoga, kettlebells, and tai chi classes. She uses Pilates for its renowned ability to strengthen the site of injuries or chronic pain and to provide conditioning for weak joints, problem backs, and those who have osteoporosis. She also implements devices such as reformers—a system of pulleys and sliding platforms that enhance Pilates's classic horizontal exercises—and towers, which incorporate the natural resistance of gravity into Pilates movements.
The massage therapists at Shiatsu Pro have a combined 30 years of clinical experience—and have equally pursued their united mission of restoring balance in the body, mind, and soul through the healing power of Shiatsu / Massage Therapy. All of Shiatsu Pro's certified shiatsu and massage therapists deftly execute the finger-pressure-reliant style of shiatsu, a Japanese riff on the ancient Chinese healing art of acupuncture that aims to rebalance bodily energies. They also specialize in massage therapy and help clients to boost holistic wellness with each session, with benefits including increased range of motion and sharpened mental clarity. The massage therapists help clients with work or Powerball-related stress alongside those with sports injuries, orthopedic syndromes, and chronic pain.
In order to adapt to each client's specific physicality and preferences, licensed massage therapist Steven Boyer adopts an integrative approach to relieving aches and pains. He trained at the Parker University's school of massage therapy, where he explored modalities including myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, reflexology, and shiatsu massage. Boyer, a certified member of the Associated Massage & Bodywork Professionals, believes a multifaceted massage provides maximum therapeutic benefits, which can include stress relief, better posture, and the ability to stand straighter than rival debutantes.
Each of Tangerine Salons' four locations operate under a charitable ethos and the nature-based tenants of Aveda. Aveda's environmentally conscious, naturally derived products infuse all of Tangerine's salon services. Seven tiers of hairstylists—ranging from Protégé I to Master III—handle the hairstyling duties by snipping, highlighting, and conditioning locks. At the Coppell and Cedar Hill locations, the staff dedicates space to an array of spa services, including massages, facial treatments, mani-pedis, and back facials that help eliminate crow's feet on people with eyes in the back of their heads.
Feet are dipped into gorgeous, hand-hammered copper bowls filled with water and essential oils. This is what happens during pedicures at Zenity Spa, where they make each treatment experience unique. In this case, copper is used because it naturally kills germs and bacteria and helps to reduce the advent of pain and inflammation—the method is safer than many traditional pedicure chairs because there are no pipes or lunch leftovers in which bacteria and fungi can accrue. Besides nailcare services, the natural day spa offers other unique treatments including facials with organic skincare products, waxing services with a numbing spray to dull the pain, and Moroccan massages with mandarin and mango extracts.
With a holistic and integrative approach, the staff provide pain-relief treatments underscored by preventive care and plans for ongoing wellness. Team members offer a diverse range of natural treatments, from physiotherapy procedures to spinal decompression and massage therapy. Such services aim to both relieve immediate pain and preemptively lower the chances of reoccurring injuries, illnesses, and dreams involving cute, dangerous bears. Additional services such as lifestyle advice, nutritional counseling, and vitamin and mineral supplements help clients further hone the art of self-maintenance.
