Big Wheel Roller Skating Center has been a community staple since 1977. Skaters strap on rented skates, whether they're standard quad, inline, or speed skates, to take a turn around the expansive rink during open skate sessions offered seven days a week. Meanwhile, kids and grownups alike compete on the boards during roller hockey leagues, while tots gain their wheel-legs during roller camps and after-school programs. When feet are ready for a break, skaters can play arcade games that run the length of the rink, or head to the snack bar to refuel with nachos and pizza. And, of course, the rink is a great place for a roller skating party, perfect for those celebrating a birthday or closing on a new treehouse.

Every day The Rink at Warwick opens the gates to one of its two ice rinks to the public. During that time, skating novices and experts alike take to the ice, enjoying a feeling that many compare to the sensation of flying or fleeing from a ravenous polar bear. The rink also offers learn-to-skate sessions, and hosts in-rink hockey leagues that welcome both boys and girls. After the skates come off, visitors can stop in the on-site restaurant for some pizza, a sandwich, or ice cream. A slew of workout equipment, meanwhile, keeps skaters in shape, and a pro shop keeps their gear up to date.

The ice at The Rink on Old York Road is ready and waiting year-round, inviting skaters to speed along its glassy surface or leap into a double spin, no matter the season. For those who are just lacing up their skates for the first time, the rink offers lessons that cater to both children and adults. Group classes help them master the fundamentals in a fun, social setting, while private instruction can help them hone their technique and work through difficult maneuvers until they can navigate the ice with all the grace of a ballerina on roller blades. When open skate is not in session, the rink is home to flying pucks during home games for the Old York Road Raisers, as well as during youth hockey league practices and tournaments.

The perfect weapon to stave off a boring afternoon, Maple Sports Arena invites visitors to zip around its inline skating rink, hit up the arcade, or explore its indoor jungle gyms. Kids can glide around the rink during open skate before refueling at the snack bar with personal pizzas and sodas. After that, they're welcome to swap out skates for sneakers to conquer five-story Marple Mountain?a technicolor climbing landscape that's littered with ropes, obstacles, and ladders?or head to the indoor rock wall to conquer vertical space and claim the wall as your own with your family's flag.
