Though Will Volpert founded Indigo Creek Outfitters in 2011, his river-touring experience began much earlier. As a kid, his parents ran an outfitting business in Salmon, Idaho, where salmon guides would stay with them for the summer. During six-day rafting trips, he learned the ways of river culture and fell in love with fishing and navigating rapids. Today, he shares his expertise with families of all experience levels, leading whitewater trips on the Rogue River and building custom vacations in Oregon and Idaho. For a bit of local flavor, the staff also organizes walking tours of local restaurants and tastings at nanobreweries.

Ashland, Oregon is somewhat remote, tucked away in the state’s densely forested southwestern corridor. But every year, thousands of visitors every year flock here to watch the timeless works of William Shakespeare at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The company puts on 11 shows from February through October. When not taking in a show, you can hike or mountain bike the Pacific Crest Trail, which skirts the ridges of the lush Siskiyou Mountains.Read the Fine Print for important info on travel dates and other restrictions.

For more than 35 years, the Wisnovsky family of vintners has labored in the fruitful soils of the Applegate Valley to produce a palate-pleasing repertoire of more than a dozen wines. During the reserve tasting, discerning pairs savor the harmonious flavor notes of at least six wines, delving into the complex characters of vinos such as toasty tempranillos, full-flavored clarets, and delicate sauvignon blancs. Continuing in the tradition of local wine pioneer Peter Britt, Valley View’s winemakers cultivate the vineyard’s rich soil, which yields a diverse array of grapes, and watch as their casks’ ambrosial contents develop intricate flavors and learn important life lessons. Wine enthusiasts are welcome to bask in the pastoral bliss of the vineyard’s picnic area, surrounded by undulating hills, tree-covered valleys, and serenading bands of mariachi mountain goats, and today’s deal also includes 15% off the same-day purchase of wines and merchandise.
