Steppin Out Ballroom's dance masters bring worlds of experience, passion, and enthusiasm to every group and private dance lesson. Their goal is always to create confident, well-rounded dancers. By encouraging students to begin with private lessons, they can customize programs to the individual and put the twinkle in their toes before twirling them into group lessons. Group classes are needed to perfect steps learned during private sessions and give dancers a social outlet. They further nurture the social side of dancing with practice parties, which let students show off their moves, dance with others who are also still learning, and enjoy a comfortable environment that simulates a night out at the club. The instructors also apply that same dedication to teaching engaged couples their first dance and leading kids during lessons and competitive teams.

A gorge filled with foam, a mountain made of tires, and a system of endless mud rivers—it’s not the nightmare of a man hoping to pogo stick across America, but a 5K obstacle course. Participants in The Hillbilly Porkchop Roundup start the day by picking up their swag bag stocked with a racing bib, t-shirt, and chip timer before lining up for an individual or team race. They'll then wind their way through 16 muddy obstacles where the object is to not only garner the best time, but to rescue the largest number of plastic pigs scattered throughout the course. After swinging through the hillbilly high bars and navigating the teetering tire bridge, runners dive into the muddy pig crawl before inadvertently hosing off in streams of a super soaker water canon.

Visitors waiting for their own circuit, or toweling off after a run can check on the kid’s in the 1-mile race, critique the eats at the State BBQ Championship, or fix their hair in the reflective chrome of a car show.

Quick—what are the colors of a rainbow? If you hesitated in answering that question, participating in an all-ages Gnarly Neon 5K could provide you with a wearable cheat sheet. During the race, spectators armed with nontoxic, washable powder make it rain blue, pink, yellow, green, and orange on runners as a live DJ pumps out high-energy beats. Each Gnarly Neon race raises money for charities like Children's Miracle Network and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Surrounded by lush, green trees and grassy areas for lounging, Wild River Country overflows with 13 watery attractions such as the Cyclone, which sends groups of four tubing down a slippery slide for a big splash at the end. After getting the water and Poseidon's bickering out of their ears from the wave pool or the rip-roaring Accelerator, parents and kids can grab a bite to eat at the Cookhouse Grill and enjoy it at the picnic area. The Tad Pool lets the little ones splash and play, and the Lazy River lets tubers linger in the sun for a relaxed float while the Pipeline slings threesomes zooming bobsled-like down the slide in a raft. Family-oriented, and safe for all ages, the water park doesn't allow smoking or alcohol in the facility and offers clean restrooms and showers.
