Chicagoland's trees have to put up with some seriously rough conditions. Each year, the city's signature wind, snow, and ice do their best to bring down limbs and topple entire specimens—some of which land on cars, rip down power lines, or fall into other compromising positions. Since 1935, Gray Tree Service has been passed on through three generations of the Gardner family to help clients handle these arboreal realities. The licensed and certified arborists perform services ranging from emergency storm cleanup to less critical jobs, such as grinding stumps and removing dead trees. For preventative maintenance, the team can also spray trees for common diseases or prune back limbs before they reach inside windows and start changing television channels.
