Current owner Flora Suissa and the founders of Suissa Salon trained in Paris and Montreal before opening their first salon in 1970 in the US. They took what they learned in the City of Light and the Province of Poutine, and created their own brand of salons. It was only a matter of time before their style shops grew into myriad locations.
Today, Suissa features a roster of talented stylists, aestheticians, and nail artists. They've also got an ace up their sleeve: Eve Diaz, who developed her own line of beauty products?LaPenotiere?which is the primary product line featured here. Armed with talent and products, stylists deliver haircuts, coloring, and keratin treatments that discipline frizzy and static-addicted hair. They also offer weft tape extensions and hijab services, offered in private suites. Suissa's stylists pride themselves on their versatility, which means they're familiar with a large and diverse client base and are adept at working with clients of all ethnicities and a wide range of hair types.
The confidence of A 2 Z Hair Studio's staff of hairstylists, nail technicians, and aestheticians puts clients at ease as soon as they enter the day spa. In addition to routinely seeking out techniques and mastering new trends, the team members employ professional-grade products in their everyday treatments. These lines include everything from Moroccanoil and Goldwell hair-conditioning balms to Shellac and OPI nail polishes. Equipped with high-end shampoos and conditioners, the stylists can recreate a classical look or devise a more modern hairdo by incorporating asymmetry or holographic bangs. Beyond hairdos, the staff can also pamper its clients with indulgent mani-pedis, body treatments, and facials that rejuvenate skin tone using 24-karat gold, Vitamin C-rich salves, or a customized selection of skincare products.
No matter what your hair type of texture, the stylists at Nolas Salon can tame it and leave it looking its best. The team draws upon a wide range of high-quality products to help in this quest: there are Brazilian Blowout treatments to smooth hair, DevaCurl products to enhance natural curls, Nioxin solutions to help those suffering from thinning hair, and tonics by Paul Mitchell, Redken, Kerastase, and Moroccanoil for every hair type in-between. Meanwhile, on the spa side of the business, aestheticians perform facials with Seacret Dead Sea products to help hydrate dry skin and remove acne-causing dirt and oil, while makeup artists enhance natural beauty with Jane Iredale cosmetics or permanent makeup.
A lineup of barbers tackles unruly hair on heads and cheeks with classic cut and shave services services that cater to gentlemen's needs but accommodate every member of the family. Meticulous barbers groom beards and mustaches, trim hair long and short, weave in gray-blending highlights, and serve up hot-towel facials that morph smile lines into charisma-loaded marks of character.
The stylists at Yalda Beauty Salon and Spa prep their clients for any event or outing with hair services, day and night makeup application, waxing treatments, and nail services. From an outpost nestled inside the Ballston Common Mall, the pros beautify clients with the help of popular salon product lines including Paul Mitchell, Matrix, and TIGI.
Now under new management, Edge Salon & Spa's stylists understand their clients' beauty needs and tend to them with exceptional hair services and spa treatments. As clients enter Edge's chic space?complete with modern white furniture, lime-green accent walls, and pearl-and-crystal-draped chandeliers?a team of seasoned beauticians greet them with a complimentary glass of wine from the onsite wine bar. Aestheticians then get to work exfoliating and moisturizing complexions with custom facials as patrons relax in cube-like leather chairs. Massage therapists use hot-stone and aromatherapy techniques to soothe aches and knots in private treatment rooms. On the salon floor, the stylists showcase their hair knowledge?which helped earn them a spot on CBS DC's list of Best Places for Men's Haircuts?as they cut, color, and style locks with Goldwell, Moroccanoil, and Paul Mitchell haircare products.
