Joel Marion first cultivated his creativity while enlisted in the Air Force and working as a photojournalist. He taught himself the complexities of shutter speed and f-stops through trial and error. Through his company—Joel Marion Photography—the autodidact has become one of the fortunate few whose avocation becomes their vocation, unlike Michael Jordan, who longed to dunk donuts instead of basketballs. Throughout his career, he has worked in fashion and advertising in St. Louis. By working with area clients for more than 30 years, Joel brings an experienced and creative approach to family, baby, high-school senior, and head-shot portraits. His wife Carol manages the studio while Joel's design and Photoshop specialist, Kelly Tucker, helps their clientele create aesthetically pleasing compositions.
For four decades, Trotter Photo's seasoned shutterbugs have captured memorable expressions in creative, professional sessions. Half-hour photo shoots transform life’s most significant moments into crisp, clear pixels, preserving them in a more comfortable means than casting the family in bronze. Trotter invites groups of up to eight subjects to pose before their choice of flattering studio backgrounds, and the studio offers up an online gallery of previously captured images for inspirational perusal.
Foto Sailor immortalizes memories with photo shoots and photo-booth rentals. A professional photographer enlivens parties with photo-booth packages that include unlimited prints and captures birthdays, engagements, or family portraits in convenient on-location sessions.
The professional photographers at Target Portrait Studios capture paramount moments in premier lighting with high-tech digital cameras and a choice of vivid background images. After clients discuss pose preferences with their portraitist, subjects take the stage for approximately 10 minutes of flashing bulbs, bright smiles, and focused lenses. Clients are welcome to bring props and shadow puppets from home, and after choosing a background, they can further customize each image with one of the studio's props, if desired.
Karen Creager, the woman behind the lens at Focus Saint Louis Photography, can shoot photographs almost anywhere in the Saint Louis area. She travels to homes, weddings, parks, and family gathering places to capture the perfect tableau. Creager skillfully photographs everyone from kids to engaged couples to-high school seniors.
SeegerPeople's photographic carvers mold keepsake 3-D sculptures from favorite snapshots. Strike poses during the two-person shoot before selecting images for a custom sculpture. SeegerPeople's staff then hones photo figurines to immortalize a baby's dimpled grin, a bar or bat mitzvah, or a beloved pet. The final sculpture, which is completed in about two weeks, rests on a stylish base for easy displaying and to prevent accidents caused by confused grandmothers squeezing the cheeks of lifelike portraits. Holiday orders must be placed before Thursday, December 15.
