In 1991, professional Swiss soccer player Ruedi Graf began World Cup Soccer Camps & Clinics as a humble operation with two small camps. Today, his team of 90 coaches interacts with about 5,000 children a year along the West Coast from Portland to San Diego. Despite their expansion, the clinics strive to maintain a 10-to-1 player-to-coach ratio in order to provide kids with individually tailored instruction. Sessions are divided by age group and skill set—U6 Fussball Academy camps introduce 5–6 year-olds to the fundamentals, the Classic Skills camp polishes basic skills and soccer concepts for 7–9 year-olds, and the Advanced Player's camp focuses on a more accelerated level of play for 10–13 year-olds.
Though Ardy Conway and her staff of certified trainers at Ardy's Pilates Studio work primarily with three apparatus—the Reformer, the Cadillac, and the chair—they are well equipped to weave more than 500 Pilates exercises into their custom workouts. Ardy draws on more than 20 years of experience as she and her team tailor private and semiprivate sessions to individual goals, such as relieving joint pain or improving at golf. The instructors also host group Reformer classes, which max out at six students to keep classes personal and allow competitive sextuplets to remain at the same fitness level.
Set on 45 acres of rustic Central Coast wine country, Sagrada Wellness fosters relaxation and spiritual attunement through personal retreats that allow couples to hike, swim, and sleep away their stresses under the starry curtain of night. Days can be well-spent walking hand-in-hand across one of San Luis Obispo's white-sand beaches, reading partisan diatribes in the shade of ancient olive trees, or watering the man-eating plants trained to intercept bosses trespassing on the property. Other complimentary activities include sunbathing sessions beside a spring-fed lake, self-guided yoga practice, and expeditions through 8 miles of trails speckled with manzanilla trees and sacred mountain sage. For an additional fee, guests may arrange horseback-riding sessions and holistic spa treatments.
At Sleeping Tiger Fitness, trainees are encouraged to "awaken your inner animal" in kettlebell and krav-maga classes. A small-but-dedicated team of martial-arts practitioners leads classes and personal training, guiding students toward increased self-confidence and fitter frames.

Curves has teamed up with health and fitness coach Jillian Michaels to develop full-body, 30-minute workouts that kick-start weight loss, combining strength training, cardio, and stretching into sessions that torch fat, build strength, boost intensity, and prevent plateaus. These workouts are enhanced further by the Curves Complete Program, available for an extra fee, which is rooted in Curves' method for effective weight loss in that it supplements efforts at the gym with personalized meal plans and weekly one-on-one meetings with a certified Curves coach.
