As a young boy, John Blake learned the building trades from his father and great-grandfather. He quickly grew attached to the family business, though years passed before he finally accepted his calling to work full-time as a builder and fixer. Today, Blake owns Paladin Remodeling and spends his time making dream homes a reality. He and his team redesign homes inside and out, adding on decks, building new bathrooms, installing swimming pools, and transforming basements into impenetrable supervillain lairs.

One of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of paints in the Pacific Northwest, Parker Paint has been sprucing up interiors and exteriors since 1945. The company has evolved over the years to keep up with the latest advancements in painting technology. Among the multi-hued fruits of this evolution are weather-ready exterior paints, whose modern formulas scoff at the elements and prove ideal for realistic yet unflattering outdoor murals of the neighbors. With more than 1,600 shades to choose from, painters will find it nearly impossible to settle, like a bowl of jello during an earthquake. Luckily, customers can take advantage of the handy virtual decorator to narrow their choices and forecast what color schemes should be applied to which room, such as aquamarine themes for the exotic-fish room, bright primary colors for the inflatable fire escape, and a variety of yellows for a basement filled with antique butter churns.

These natural, organic ingredients are used to deeply exfoliate skin—the powerful combo of natural fruit acids, detoxifiers, and oxygen boosters leaves faces smooth and glowing. The rejuvenating, exfoliating AHA facial is just one of All About U’s custom treatments, all of which use specific blends of organic fruits, herbs, and spices to meet each client’s unique skin needs. All About U’s staff also removes hair through waxing, sugaring, and mind control, and massages, reiki treatments, and infrared-sauna sessions encourage the release of tension. :m]]
Set in Rosebud, a 19th-century mining town, Boom Town takes audiences 145 years back in time on a whimsical Old West adventure. World-class circus performers, including many drawn from the ranks of Cirque du Soleil, use mining equipment and other colorful props to execute a variety of stunts and maneuvers worthy of double, triple, and quadruple takes. The acrobatic action takes place within the fittingly historical walls of the venerable Pantages Theater, a former vaudeville venue and movie house. Before or after the show, head down the street to Pacific Grill, where chef/owner Gordon Naccarato oversees a menu rich in nautical delicacies such as weathervane scallops ($30) and turf-based tastes including grilled lamb T-bone chops ($32).
