The inspiration for Angerman Hardwoods came in 1986, when a family friend asked Chuck Angerman if he'd help install hardwood flooring in a mountain home. Angerman agreed, and they set to work; when the project was done, he marveled at the beauty of the floor's wood grain, and at how the floor changed the home's entire aesthetic. He launched Angerman Hardwoods the following year with the help of his partner, Cynthia.
Today, the Angerman draws on decades of experience to bring out the beauty of hardwoods. Specialists sand floors using Bona dust containment sanding equipment that virtually eliminates airborne dust, and they refinish floors using a waterborne polyurethane that gleams for up to eight years. They also install all-new hardwood, bamboo, laminate, and cork flooring. They've strived to provide high-quality customer service in addition to high-quality products, earning an A+ from the Better Business Bureau.
Dedicated to commercial and residential cleaning, the family-owned Owl Helpers carries out everything from regular maid service to cleaning up after pets and party guests. Capsules do all the work at Aquarius Tanning Salon & High Tech Spa, where high-tech equipment takes the place of spa technicians. Clients step into tanning beds outfitted with Wolff lamps to turn their skin a bronzer hue, or lay down inside of the slim capsule to boost their metabolism and burn calories. Aquarius's other booths hydrate the skin, soften fine lines and wrinkles, and mist UV-free spray tans.
From its modest origins in a garage, Appliance Factory Outlet & Mattresses has blossomed into a full-fledged appliance-vending behemoth with 14 locations throughout Colorado. The outlet compiles an enormous collection of handy household appliances from top-quality brands such as GE, Whirlpool, LG, KitchenAid, Sealy, and Tempur-pedic.
At each location, knowledgeable staffers shepherd patrons through sprawling showrooms, which collectively tout more than 150,000 pieces of equipment, including laundry machinery, kitchen appliances, microwaves, and macrowaves. They can special order items not in stock or tap into a stash of spare parts to repair busted apparatus. In addition to appliances, the staff can point patrons toward a fleet of mattresses and overstock items.
When brothers Joseph and Herb Guiry founded the paint store that bears their name, Denver was still an untamed frontier town, William McKinley was President, and the flag still had 45 stars and not a single cartoon dog. The year was 1899, and, in the hundred-plus years since, the store has remained a family tradition across four generations of shopkeepers. Today, the store’s seven locations carry paints for everything from houses to school projects, and supplement their stock with home decorations including lighting, wallpaper, and furniture.
Though he’d spent 25 years lifting stains from carpets, Ed Kasser couldn’t get rid of his calling. He and his wife had retired, but soon enough his sons returned from the Marines and wanted to go back into the family business. So Ed reenlisted, starting Pristine Carpet Cleaning with his sons and calling in the reserves—his daughter. During each cleaning session, the Kasser clan uses non-toxic, hypoallergenic cleaners—keeping kids and pets safe—and ensure a thorough coverage by removing all furniture from the room, except for burdensome items such as pianos, wall units, and alien monoliths.
