Since 1973, skaters have been sailing effortlessly across Fairfax Ice Arena’s spacious, icy surface during public skate sessions, figure skating–lessons, and hockey leagues for all ages. At the family-owned arena, a staff of dedicated skating coaches guides students while calling upon experience from the St. Petersburg State Ballet on Ice, Disney on Ice, and the lesser-known On Golden Pond on Ice. The arena is open throughout the year, hosting a full hockey and figure skating–pro shop in addition to its Arena Café.

The Washington Kastles are the 2009 champions of the World Team Tennis league, a 35-year-old tennis association co-founded by Billie Jean King that pits 10 co-ed teams in head-to-head action against one another as they compete for the King Trophy and a chance to face Borlock, the many-tentacled galactic tennis champion from the Ursa Wimbledon nebula. During the July 12 match, watch the Kastles take on the New York Buzz, including former number-one-ranked player Martina Hingis. You'll also receive a free Kastles T-shirt (a $15 value), and have the chance to ask Kastles coach Murphy Jensen to sign your lock of Andre Agassi's hair during a Groupon-exclusive meet-and-greet (a $25 value). With the second option, get the free T-shirt plus a seat during the July 18 match against the Boston Lobsters. Although the Washington Kastles' roster boasts both Williams sisters, neither will be playing at these matches.

LA Boxing’s instructors thumb their noses at the suggestion that fighting has no place in public. They happily subvert this social convention, leading students through safe and noncontact fitness classes inspired by the pugilistic arts. Each boxing, kickboxing, or group MMA class is led by a professional fighter, who teaches basic skills during the up-tempo, one-hour workouts. Students warm up with plyometrics before strapping on 6-ounce gloves and hitting a heavy bag with combination of kicks, knees, and elbows. Classes may burn between 800 and 1,000 calories per session, improve coordination and stamina, and increase your tolerance for listening to the theme from Rocky IV on repeat.

Profiled on the PBS series Circus, the international performers of Big Apple Circus stretch one ring to new limits with this year's original show, "Dance On!". From a ringside seat, eyes clearly catch the nuances of intricate acts, such as the Kenyan Boys, whose perplexing pole-shimmying has previously landed them performances at Walt Disney parks and during halftime shows for various NBA teams. Regina Dobrovitskaya, a gymnast since age 11 and a Russian since birth, puts her master's degree in sport gymnastics to work while dangling from the rafters from her Cloud Swing, and China's Hebei Wuqiao Acrobatic Troupe synchronizes lasso twirling and acrobaticizes monocycling to thumping drumbeats. Leading the charge is lovable clown Grandma, a marquis member of Big Apple since 1982 and inductee to the International Clown Hall of Fame who has also been seen on CBS's Circus of the Stars and with multiple appearances in Macy's famed Thanksgiving Day Parade and lesser-known Boxing Day Stand-Still. All Groupon purchasers will be seated in the ringside section, shown in blue on the seating chart. Parking discount at Central parking available with ticket stub; $10 for up to 5 hours on weekday evenings. Must surrender ticket stub to Central parking post-show to redeem parking discount. Group seating is also available.

Rebounderz's facility features more than 16,000 square feet of springy trampoline surfaces. And that's not even counting vertical space, which is just as important considering that the main event here is launching oneself off the trampoline floors and soaring through the air. Inside of the jump arenas, trampoline floors give way to angled walls made of the same springy material, creating a safe and spacious atmosphere where high-flying acrobatics are the sport of choice. The open jump arenas allow for freestyling acrobatics; friendly competition, however, occurs in air dodgeball contests and on the basketball slam court. At the latter, kids can summon their inner NBA stars by flaunting their reverse dunk skills or pretending they're driving a Lamborghini during the offseason. Things take a mellower turn in the video arcade and in the WiFi–equipped lounge and cafe, where parents can relax and kids can snack between turns on the trampolines.
