Brother Wolf Animal Rescue began in 2009 as a small group of volunteers dedicated to helping the community of homeless pets and promoting responsible pet ownership. Over the course of its first year as a licensed shelter, the nonprofit organization was able to find homes for 1,300 cats and dogs. In addition to working with animals in need of behavioral training, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue also stocks pet supplies and provides grooming services. Its specialty grooming services include bathing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning for the needs of specific dogs, as well as cats pretending to be dogs.

Twelve spacious runs, organic shampoos, and shelves of high-quality pet foods attest to Canine Shear Heaven’s staff's doting approach to their animal charges. The boarding kennel is located at owner Marthe Worley’s country home in Mars Hill, where 21-square-foot dog runs give canines the space to stretch their limbs and practice downward-human yoga poses in between chowing on food, basking in twice-daily walks, and hunkering down beneath blankets for a good night's sleep. In the onsite grooming facility, attentive groomers clip and sculpt dog and cat coats and lavish them in shampoos made from organic aloe, citrus, and herb ingredients. Canine Shear Heaven also keeps its retail shelves stocked with Lupine collars and pet food from notable brands such as Canidae and Fromm.

During their stay, animals can undergo grooming and bathing services to remove tangles and stenches from fur or impress talent agents casting for Homeward Bound: With a Vengeance.
