  • Let's Make Wine
After marrying into an Italian family, Let's Make Wine owner Cheryl Lisi discovered winemaking and, at the behest of friends, opened her own shop where everyone could participate in the art. Her stock includes a menu of winemaking kits for varietals from around the globe, such as riesling, Chilean malbec, and Lisi's favorite, Italian sangiovese, stomped with Gucci loafers. In addition to wine-crafting opportunities, Lisi hosts wineglass-painting classes and will soon add beer-brewing supplies to the store's inventory.

  • Tenn South Distillery
For Blair Butler and Clayton Cutler, moonshine was just the beginning. When the pair opened Tenn South Distillery in 2011, their goal was to craft the age-old Tennessee spirit in small batches based on traditional methods. Once All Purpose Shine hit shelves, the duo's goals expanded. That's when Blair and Clayton began crafting oak-barrel-aged whiskey, vodka, and gin. Additionally, the pair homebrews flavored moonshines, perfect for mixing into drinks or adding extra shine to already brilliant patent-leather boots. Open throughout the week, the brothers-in-law invite visitors to check out the process and taste the final results during tours and tastings.

  • Clementine's
Though Clementines Restaurant began as a humble burger-and-malt shop, it has blossomed in the last 35 years into a fine-dining establishment. Voted best restaurant and best dessert at the NW Houston Chamber of Commerce's Epicurean Night 2012, Clementines Restaurant has proven its reputation. Chefs pack lunches of snapper Alexander topped with shrimp and crawfish in a white-wine cream sauce. For dinner they prepare seafood, steak, and veal specialties, as well as pollo dishes. Just as operas conclude with the main character eating cake, meals conclude with diners eating croissant bread pudding with english cream and old-fashioned shakes and malts. Much of this culinary goodness makes its way to Clementines’ catering and banquet menu; the private banquet room seats up to 77 for special events such as weddings, rehersal dinners, birthdays, business functions, and baby and bridal showers–menus can be customized for events. Additionally, the sound of live entertainment can be heard Tuesday through Saturday nights.

  • JKO Enterprises
It's not uncommon to see wild turkeys, deer, and foxes right from the back deck of Natchez Hills Bed & Breakfast. The B&B sits in the midst of 175 acres of wilderness dotted with old barns and organic gardens. A number of hiking trails wend throughout the property, too, including one leading to Karen's Falls, one of a few waterfalls nearby. The B&B's three guest rooms all have nice views of the surrounding wilderness, especially the Coal Miner's cabin, which overlooks the front gardens and koi pond from a private outdoor seating area. In the morning, the innkeepers set out a family-style breakfast in the dining room or on the back deck (weather permitting). There's also coffee, tea, and cocoa available all day long.
