"The essence of yoga and meditation is about a very simple thing—your happiness." So says Swamiji, the founder of Yoga In Daily Life. Originally from rural Rajasthan, India, he has shared the teachings of yoga since 1972, when he moved from India to Europe. Swamiji based Yoga In Daily Life on the original teachings and traditions of yoga, but focused it to meet modern needs.
Yoga in Daily Life is designed to gradually and systematically prepare the body and mind leading from gentle stretches towards more advanced and difficult postures. The classes emphasize four aspects of yoga: relaxation, yoga postures, breathing practice, and meditation. Today, the system is taught in over 3,000 locations in more than 26 countries around the world in an effort to promote harmony for the body, mind, and soul. The Buford center has been offering classes since 1999.

Skill and experience don't matter at Bikram Yoga Decatur. Students of all levels can attend the studio's 90-minute Bikram yoga classes and gradually develop their practice at a comfortable pace. Each class meets in a room heated to 105 degrees and consists of the same sequence of two breathing exercises, 26 standing and seated asanas, and three high-fives. The combination of heat and powerful, sustained stretches systematically engages organs and muscle groups throughout the body while increasing circulation. In addition to improving strength, flexibility, and balance over time, Bikram yoga practice also requires keen mental focus and it hones awareness of mind-body connections.
To complement students' practice, the studio hosts two additional class types. For practitioners pressed for time, sixty-minute classes (Core 26) use the exact same Bikram poses in a more dynamic, flow sequence. For students already experienced with the style, intermediate classes (Master Core) introduce 19 additional postures into the sequence, including asanas that strengthen the core, arms, and upper body. Master Core classes are heated to approximately 90 degrees.
"Our brain is designed to realize what we wish, without any minor errors," says Dahn Yoga founder Ilchi Lee. "If you want success, it will create success. If you want happiness or health, it will create them. Anything is possible, as long as negative thoughts and emotions don't interfere." To make this challenging, yet hopeful philosophy accessible to all, Lee combined the Eastern concept of chi energy with his own brain-management system, developing a distinctive program that unlocks inner peace and sweeps up brain clutter caused by the daily stress of always having to find Waldo. Warm-up yoga maneuvers awaken muscles before 30–40 minutes of breathing, stretching, core practice, and meditation—including a signature brain-wave vibration technique that aims to calibrate mental and physical energies. Cooldown exercises ease the body back into quotidian functionality before a 10-minute teatime invites socialization among participants while bolstering pinkie endurance.

Adding to the selection, Taylor and her team schedule wellness therapies such as Chakra Balancing and community-oriented special events such as potlucks and poetry open mics.
