Some people have earned a scholarship to a prestigious art academy, spent time outside a café in France with a canvas and portable easel, and were born with the ability to reflect their inner-torment with freeform splashes of acrylics. Some people just want to have a good time and paint. At Fine Art Parties, instructors cater to this second bunch with parties at their studio or in the client’s home furnished with blank 12"x16" canvases, wine, tea, and cheese for all. Taking inspiration from masters such as Warhol, Matisse, and Van Gogh, instructors lead guests through a simple three-step method that results in a framable work of art. In addition to their group events and private functions, the studio also hosts romantically themed couple painting parties, which take place under the starry night sky, and human body classes with live nude subjects or reanimated wax statues.
At Chuck Wolf's Photo Design Bar, you'll find a staff of tech-savvy photography and photoshop experts poised to help you create your own photography projects. The staff assists clients in transporting photos from cell phones, cameras, or photographic memories onto framed canvases, onto accessories such as T-shirts and phone cases, and onto calendars. The photo masters also teach classes that range from Introduction to Photography and digital SLR cameras to Smartphone Photography.
The concept of the company comes from Chuck Wolf, the businessman behind the successful Wolf Camera brand, and his business partners, who flung the doors open on the Photo Design Bar in January 2014 as a way to connect their clients with the latest photographic technologies and learning opportunities.
Mike Moreland's portfolio bursts apart at the seams with the work of more than 15 years in architecture, fashion, and advertising photography. The award-winning photographer's three-hour workshops, typically lead by two–four expert shutterbugs, teach neophytes and hobbyists the tricks and tools to snap professional-grade shots. After 45 minutes of instruction, students spend just over two hours honing their burgeoning skills, capturing images on their own DSLRs or with a chisel and stone tablet. Guests walk out of the sessions knowing how to manipulate light sensors, how to adjust shutter speeds with a special emphasis on nature photography, and the basics of studio lighting, wedding portraiture, and shooting in urban settings.
