Rest assured that your little wagger or whiskered companion is in good hands: Fetch!’s sitters are all professionally trained, undergo extensive background checks, are continuously monitored, and have their own little cuddlesome critters back at home. Fetch!’s private on-leash dog walks get your pooch fresh air when you’re stuck at the office playing business darts. Perfect for pups, matured mutts, or dogs that just want a little time to themselves, these 30-minute walks ($18 per outing, $23 if before 6:30 a.m. or after 9:30 p.m.) include waste cleanup, feeding, and home care if requested. Social snoutpals will appreciate the group dog exercise ($20 per outing) or the unleashed field trip, a group exercise adventure in an approved off-leash area ($20 per outing).
Although Sue Towler developed a steadfast work ethic during 24 years of service in the United States Air Force, it's her love of dogs that continues to bring out the best of her nature. Before opening The Barking Lot, where she and her staff of canine devotees lovingly provide dog boarding and daycare services, Sue started a home pet-sitting service and a no-kill animal shelter, both of which she still runs. At The Barking Lot, pooches frolic together on a grassy playground during playtime, monitored by the staff in case a debate about the president's dog's foreign-policy experience gets out of hand. At night, boarding pups settle into tiled suites and air-conditioned kennels.
The scene is a familiar one: hotel guests lounge beside the outdoor pool as staff members filter around, offering refreshments or collecting clients for a spa treatment. However, at Pet Paradise, the pool is bone shaped and all the guests are dogs. This luxurious scene is one cat and dog owners can find at this boarding and daycare facility that has been owner Fred Goldsmith's pride and joy for a decade. The animal lover was inspired to start his own pet hotel when he simply couldn’t find a place he was comfortable leaving his bichon frise when he went on vacation.
Fred made Pet Paradise to his exact specifications, and the pet hotel's amenities reflect the loving care he lavishes on his own beloved pup. Dogs and cats can luxuriate in spa-quality grooming treatments or burn off some energy during group playtime. In the evening, pets can settle into plush bedding and feel safe knowing that the dedicated live-in staff resides just a bark away. Nocturnal kitties spend the night exploring their own private six-level cat condos while gentle spa music fills the air to keep them entertained. In case of any emergencies, Pet Paradise keeps veterinarians on-call, and in the event of a snack emergency, each staff member is a certified bacon cook.
Different from the average pet-boarding facility, Paradise 4 Paws has a bone-shaped pool surrounded by more than 20,000 square feet of indoor play area, plush accommodations, and comfy boarding suites. Staff members roam the facility 24/7, playing with animals during the day, tucking them in at night, and performing à la carte services such as grooming, obedience training, health checkups, and canine massage therapy. Paradise 4 Paws has its own training academy, and its pet-care professionals have received pet-first-aid certification from the American Red Cross.
The pet-minded staff cares about pet owners, as well, granting access to the play area’s real-time webcams and offering airport parking and transportation.
Silke Schröder's canine haven hosts dog-training classes, grooming sessions, doggie daycare, and overnight guests in spacious luxury suites. Among Silke's many dog-whispering accomplishments, the German-born-and-raised dog trainer placed second at the 2001 German Northern States Dog Sporting Championship, qualified for the 2005 USDAA Agility World Championships, and has racked up years of professional experience training pups of all ages and breeds in basic obedience and agility using an upbeat and positive approach. Her diverse roster of classes ranges from basic puppy obedience to Canine Good Citizen courses, in which dogs learn to behave in public, around other dogs, and before Queen Elizabeth's corgi ambassadors.
Shaded by thick, moss-strewn trees, Pet Camp's outdoor play area provides plenty of room for carefree romps and organized activities with the pack for daycare visitors, and boarders can recover from games of Red Rover inside the 2,700-square-foot, climate-controlled kennel. Four-footed guests can stage a sweet-smelling reunion with their owners after a Hydrosuge bath, brush, or trim at the grooming center
The groomers at Grateful Dog Grooming like to say that they treat every fur-covered client like a member of the family—which isn’t surprising given they have team members such as Sally, a spunky Boston terrier, making regular appearances and greeting visitors with wide grins. Within the shop’s warm orange walls, groomers give dogs and cats an all-over styling with services such as bathing, teeth brushing, nail filing, and hot-oil treatments. Staffers can even give pets a bit of style by adding a decorative scarf or a gold-rimmed monocle before owners return to retrieve their four-legged pals.
