Jeffrey Remer, owner of Eight Gate, applies 19 years of studying Eastern healing techniques to each of his treatments. After receiving his master's degree from the American College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, he studied acupressure, Chinese massage modalities, and zen Shiatsu, then learned constitutional-acupressure-renewal methods from Mary Elizabeth Wakefield at the Chi-Akra Center. He strives to foster health in his clients by working in harmony with Western medicine and in vocal harmony with passing barbershop quartets.
FitnessQuest's team of certified trainers and dedicated managers empowers clients of any age and fitness level to pursue healthier lives, starting with a fitness assessment that informs a custom-built program of exercise classes and nutritional guidance. Through these assessments, they create customized regimens that can help clients overcome medical issues, lose weight, or excel at sports-related tasks, such as throwing a baseball or ceremoniously hurling a water cooler at the coach from across the field after a victory. They helm a wide variety of basic and specialized classes that range from personal training, to fitness parties and corporate wellness programs.
The team also offers specialized health programs tailored to different demographics within their client base. They are also members of the Healthways SilverSneakers program, an innovative health, exercise and wellness program that helps older adults to live healthy, active lifestyles. Female-centric concerns, such as finding effective prenatal and postnatal workouts or overcoming difficulties with osteoarthritis, are addressed in their women-only exercise and nutrition program.
In addition to health regimens, the staff supplements exercise with massages to leave muscles feeling their best after long workouts.
Don't even try to call Work It! Personal Training a gym or a workout center. Such statements may yield a playful jab to the arm, inspired by the studio's fun-filled piloxing classes. Certified personal trainers helm this low-key facility, challenging every inch of the body during group workouts for all levels of fitness. In addition to building strength and stamina, RIPPED interval training sports a team-like atmosphere that helps exercisers tackle fitness objectives as lofty as a redwood sprouting from a moon-bound rocket. Available by appointment, personal training sessions teem with custom exercises and nutrition tips that complement the client's daily routine. Informed by a deep knowledge of physiology and kinesiology, these programs also propel them toward goals such as losing weight, sculpting muscles, or running a marathon while flying a kite.
Jane Gralewski and her staff at Premier Lipo Body Sculpting and Cambridge Family Chiropractic help enhance the body's ability to self-heal without medication or surgery. They achieve this through many of the newest chiropractic techniques. When they aren't liberating necks and backs with adjustments and corrective exercises, they help bodies to find new vigor and shapelier contours through nutritional counseling and by parking them in front of a flattering reflecting pool. They also keep three massage therapists on staff who further the spine-straightening process by lending their muscle-melting skills.
After graduating from Palmer Chiropractic College, Dr. Daniel Clark went on to become a board-certified chiropractic physician and a member of the Michigan Association of Chiropractors. Today, he draws on more than two decades of experience as he eases back pain, neck cramps, and headaches with an array of services and techniques and help from his staff. When he isn't mending bulging, herniated, and degenerative disks, Dr. Clark treats spinal injuries caused by car accidents and hours spent hunched over giving pep talks to Hot Wheels.
