At Beautiful Solutions, beauty seekers acquire lustrous and toxin-free skin without transplanting their brains into metallic exoskeletons that attract refrigerator magnets. Each body wrap utilizes a blend of 27 select minerals and herbs mixed with aloe vera to heal and nurture absorbent skin. During the treatment, the body is covered in special towels soaked in a mineral and herb solution, and the senses are soothed by aromatic scents. Skin emerges toned and firm, but not likely to bully hair follicles and take their lunch money. Drinking eight glasses of water per day for the next five days facilitates the detoxification process and helps maintain a sleek and revitalized muscle holster. Male patients must bring swimming apparel for the treatment.
At Simply Slimming, technicians helps shape, tighten, and detoxify the body through quick and modern techniques. Body wraps use the power of compression and chemical to shave inches off the hips, stomach, and legs, with specialty wraps designed to increase energy and firm up wrinkles. Guests can also purge toxins with a leisurely soak in an ionic detox footbath, or bid adieu to crow's feet with yogurt tightening face masks.
Practicing in aesthetics and pain management since 2004, Leslie Escalante has concluded that natural remedies can enhance the practice of Western medicine. She left her position as an assistant to a board-certified physician to open Balanced Health & Beauty, where she melds medical practices with natural solutions to combat physical aging. She recruited Dr. J. Scott Gaertner, a board-certified family practitioner and graduate of The University of Texas Medical School, to oversee the center's more involved procedures. These include FDA-cleared cosmetic injections that require absolute precision to create firm, smooth skin, and personalized hormone-replacement regimes that mitigate the fatigue caused by winding the town clock daily.
Representing Escalante's interest in holistic wellness, the center also fosters proper nutrition with Xymogen vitamin supplements and a variety of diet plans. Multitalented lasers use radio frequency to gently clear detritus from pores, evict unwanted hairs, or diminish visible sun damage or spider veins. Traditional facials target conditions specific to each patient's skin type with chocolate antioxidants and pumpkin enzymes, and peels rely on serums from PCA Skin and Obagi to reveal healthy, youthful complexions.
At Bella Body Design, slimming down clients' silhouettes takes teamwork. The clinic specializes in body-contouring treatments that combine radio, monopolar, bipolar, and tripolar frequency waves—a six-stage sytem that reduces fat and cellulite while contouring to the shape of the body more efficiently than either method alone, and is the only Austin-area clinic to use this system. As the radio-frequency waves heat the fat cells beneath the skin, ultrasonic waves rupture and break them up, followed by the vacuum to push the breakage into the lymphatic system. From there the body metabolizes the cells naturally, which leaves skin smoother on areas such as the stomach, thighs, and arms. The treatment also works on the face and chin, where it fades wrinkles and lifts sagging skin without clients having to resort to strips of duct tape attached to helium balloons. Each session is gentle, noninvasive, and, unlike surgeries with similar effects, requires no downtime.
A licensed massage therapist and ACE fitness certified personal trainer, Jennifer Shaw is well versed in the inner workings of the human body. She funnels her multifaceted training into helping her clients overcome pain and stress through treatments such as Swedish, hot stone, and Thai-shiatsu massage. But the natural healing doesn't stop there. Bodywork in Austin also offers one-on-one yoga therapy sessions that allow each client the personal attention they need to experience the full benefits of yoga. In the promethean spirit of giving folks their own healing tools, the therapists also lead classes in couples massage, four-hand massage, and parent-child massage.

Do you offer your customers any extra perks?
There is always coffee and tea available. Much of the reading material is made up of brochures and magazines from the skincare industry.
What is one fun, unusual fact about your business?
Skin Logic is all about the client and we make it fun and light-hearted. We know that taking care of your skin need not be complicated so we make it simple, reliable, and relaxing for the customer. Most people don't know that the name Skin Logic is all about representing a serious interest in your skin—a "logical" approach that is tailored to the individual. Skin Logic is serious about being intelligent when it comes to which modality to use on each person. We analyze each person and each situation each time, and listen to your needs because they can change from visit to visit.
Our services include many things that other spas charge extra for—for example, the ultrasonic exfoliation, hi-frequency, and extractions are always included at no extra charge.
What steps do you take to make your clients feel at ease?
We often ask [clients], "If you could wave a magic wand, and make your skin become anything you would like, what would that look like to you?" We often get a chuckle and it breaks the ice. Then I ask what is the most important outcome they would like to have over time and what would they like to focus on "today." It gives me a starting point. If they are a new customer, I realize they don't know if they can trust me yet. If they can see improvement on the one thing that is most important to them, they have felt that I heard them and they believe I have something more to offer them. I want them to know that we care, truly care. We are not just another spa.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
We make recommendations on future services, packages of services bundled for savings, and on the best home care regime. If [clients] have products at home to use up, we explain which products are best and look for holes in their current regimen. If we have samples, we offer those to take home. And we also have something we call Club Logic [that offers] discounts on products and services every month.
