It begins with a thorough consultation. Each visitor to Amity Green Room first sits with one of the massage therapists, discussing any aches, pains, injuries, or persistent ailments. Based on findings, the therapist then selects from six modalities to address issues such as stress and sports-related injuries. The office also offers scrubs of the back or feet, as well as aromatherapy.

At Bella Body Design, slimming down clients' silhouettes takes teamwork. The clinic specializes in body-contouring treatments that combine radio, monopolar, bipolar, and tripolar frequency waves—a six-stage sytem that reduces fat and cellulite while contouring to the shape of the body more efficiently than either method alone, and is the only Austin-area clinic to use this system. As the radio-frequency waves heat the fat cells beneath the skin, ultrasonic waves rupture and break them up, followed by the vacuum to push the breakage into the lymphatic system. From there the body metabolizes the cells naturally, which leaves skin smoother on areas such as the stomach, thighs, and arms. The treatment also works on the face and chin, where it fades wrinkles and lifts sagging skin without clients having to resort to strips of duct tape attached to helium balloons. Each session is gentle, noninvasive, and, unlike surgeries with similar effects, requires no downtime.

The team at Rosewood Chiropractic and Massage Therapy not only treats clients? pain, but also unearth the underlying cause of discomfort to help prevent future problems. Custom massages focus on addressing the client's specific issues, from athletes with decreased range of motion after an injury to expectant mothers suffering from sciatica and swelling. Clients can benefit further from infrared sauna sessions, which heat the body internally without making the air uncomfortably warm.

Q&A with Ron Corcoran, Massage Therapist

What are some of your most popular services? What do you think clients love them so much?

Clients love the combination of deep-tissue massage, hot stones, and aromatherapy because it creates a relaxing experience.

What's the most common mistake you see people make? What would you recommend they do instead?

Not drinking enough water before and after a massage. I recommend drinking at least half your bodyweight in ounces everyday.

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?

I have 14 years of experience in massage.
