Owned by American Star Ball Championship dancers Ruslan Meshkov and Alexandra Nema and staffed with experienced instructors, Fred Astaire Dance Studio understand the basic human pining to impress peers and woo prospective mates by exploding into a barrage of meticulously choreographed but equally soulful dance moves. You'll start out with a 30-minute private beginner's lesson where you'll learn the basic ins and outs of the dance floor. After, you can schedule your remaining private lesson and two 30-minute group dance classes how you like (the two private lessons and one group class are $33 based on one of Fred Astaire's intro specials, and the additional group class is $22.50). Two 90-minute practice parties ($24) provide an opportunity to make up for a disastrous prom-night face plant and subsequent nine-week rehabilitation. Fred Astaire lets you choose from 28 dance styles, including American styles such as foxtrot, jitterbug, and swing, and international styles like the cha-cha, pasodoble, and the tango.

Sock-footed children scamper around 7,000 square feet of indoor space that, like most office buildings, has specified zones for different age groups ranging from infants through preschoolers. In the back area, older kids strengthen eye-hand coordination with video games such as Madden NFL, while bounce houses help youngsters expend their boundless energy. In the playset area, kids can play house in a pretend kitchen, play train engineer on kid-sized railroads, or play Godzilla by sticking their hands in dollhouse windows. Infants and toddlers wander around a simpler play area near the parents' lounge, where guardians can keep one eye on their kids and the other on a TV or computer screen. At the end of the day, all surfaces are purified by a professional cleaning service with hospital-grade disinfectant.

Step N Dance founder Tony Duarte began dancing as a child in Nicaragua. Soon after moving to Miami at age 16, he developed an interest in styles ranging from the waltz to the hustle. With the new discovery of so many new steps came a passionate love of one particular style, however, and Duarte soon mastered the art of salsa. Over his career, Duarte’s skills have been seen on PBS, Univision, and every time he crosses the street. Classes at his own studio lean strongly towards salsa and other Latin styles, each enlivened with a smattering of jazz, hip-hop, and Afro-Cuban influences.

Home of the $1,000,000 Florida Derby and the six-race Sunshine Millions series, the Gulfstream Park's track has hosted live thoroughbred races since 1939. Steeds charge around corners on the main track or the turf course as onlookers track the race from the comfort of the stands, a luxury suite, or a cloud rented from overlooking deities. Beyond concession-stand offerings, the facility invites visitors to grab more substantial fare from one of its onsite restaurants. In addition to the Asian-inspired menu at Christine Lee's, diners can visit Ten Palms at Gulfstream Park and sample the contemporary American fare of celebrity chef Ralph Pagano, a former competitor on Iron Chef America and host of Pressure Cook on the National Geographic Channel.

Outside of the racing facility, Gulfstream Park includes a casino with more than 850 slot machines, electric table games, and high-stakes poker tables spread across two floors. At the nearby The Village at Gulfstream Park, visitors can wander through boutique fashion and home-decor stores, including Next and Williams-Sonoma, while searching for the park's fabled hide-and-seek world champion.
