Mac's Industrial Sports Bar's kitchen wizards conjure up hearty pub grub for dinner and lunch while tap masters top off chalices with bottled brews and 27 draft beers hailing from suds factories all over the country, including the local delights of Lift Bridge and Schell's. Bolster mastication muscles without chewing on a ThighMaster by ordering one of the amply stuffed sandwiches, such as the brisket-style reuben on grilled marble rye ($9.50) or the BLAT ($9.50), which adds avocado slices to the infamous BLT lineup. Diners can add custom flare to grilled handheld eats, including burgers, with a choice of more than 20 extra toppings, such as onion rings ($1), a fried egg ($1.50), and an array of cheeses ($0.75–$1). The build-your-own pizza ($9) allows patrons to create a personalized amalgamation of meats ($1/topping) and vegetables ($0.50/topping) for a culinary construction more inviting to the tongue than a statue of Millard Fillmore sculpted from a block of Fun Dip. For earlier eats, servers unveil a variety of appetizing mouth merriments, such as a buffalo-chicken salad ($6.50) and the corn-dog snacker ($7), which consists of six mini corn dogs, french fries, and mustard sauce.

When Brian McInerney reflects on the humble beginnings of Wheel Fun Rentals, Inc., he points to his childhood passion for bikes. "As far back as I can remember, I had a real love affair with bicycles," he recalls. During a trip to Italy in 1987, Brian's affinity for cycling blossomed into a full-fledged obsession when he spotted locals' transporter of choice, the surrey. Inspired, he began importing the Italian four-wheelers to a rental business in the U.S. that eventually expanded into Wheel Fun Rentals, now a nationwide web of shops that also loans out bikes, electric cars and mopeds, and man-powered watercraft. Adventuresome athletes can also compete in activities such as surrey scavenger hunts and blindfold obstacle courses navigated via shouted instructions from a seeing teammate or exceptionally long rounds of trial and error.

The specialists at The Path specialize in breathing new life into old things. That goes for restoring vintage cycles, but also for furnishing their striking, lodge-like shop, clad wall-to-wall in pieces of wood. To get the look, the team repurposed wine crates as shelving units and an old wooden stage floor as wall paneling.

BMX parts and accessories hang from the knotty wall fixtures, along with complete new cycles—many from hard-to-find brands, and all including free basic tune-ups for life. Behind the counter, the staff operates a full-service repair center, performing custom bike builds and complete restorations. While waiting for a tune-up or price check, guests can browse the collection of vintage cycles or compare triathlon times with the shop dog, Bandit.
