Sears Portrait Studio's original photographers committed their first family photos to film more than 60 years ago, and the studio's digital photographers continue the tradition of taking high-quality portraits at more than 1,000 U.S. locations open today. Each professional photographer completes a rigorous training program before they begin composing and shooting digital photographs, adopting styles ranging from formal portraits to passport photos. Their all-digital system lets customers access their photographs online, where they can add graphics before ordering prints for collages, greeting cards, mugs, and broken-mug collages.
Blue Raven Music Studio's colorful, brightly painted studio houses experienced instructors who teach prospective maestros of all skill levels how to play a wide variety of instruments. Tickle the ivories during piano instruction, ruffle a moustache with harmonica lessons, or ripple passersby with good guitar vibrations. Conducted in an intimate, one-on-one setting, the 30-minute lessons start with the basics of music making, including note reading, technique, and music theory. As students evolve into well-oiled melody-manufacturing machines, lessons can become more personalized, allowing students to select particular songs or genres they want to master.
Over the course of approximately an hour, experienced technicians from Arctic Air Conditioning and Heating Co. perform a 20-point checkup to suss out potential furnace problems. Heater healers inspect the venting system, check filters, and rescue lost socks from the ducts. Next, pilot ignitions willingly display their own fiery potency under the furnace finaglers' watchful gaze, and a check for proper burner operation ensures continued toastiness. The vital heat-exchanger examination reveals any possible traces of carbon monoxide that may be present, revealing potential safety hazards more effectively than a hurricane drill in Missouri.
The mother-daughter duo of Lasting Memories Studio customizes each photo shoot, capturing fleeting moments and preserving them with care and keen eyes. During the in-studio senior-portrait sitting, almost-graduates strike poses for up to 20 minutes, contemplating upcoming advanced education or work on the family goldfish ranch. Students choose the winning shot from 5 to 10 frames and receive eight retouched wallet-size prints for distribution among fellow seniors and close imaginary friends.
