On Redlands Shooting Park's nine regulation trap fields, bullets chase clay pigeons flung from machines with voice-release technology. Elsewhere on the grounds, customers take aim on four regulation skeet fields and navigate 10 challenging stations on a sporting-clays course. Along with these open-shooting sessions, Redlands Shooting Park hosts numerous events throughout the year, including ATA-registered trap shoots, NSSA-registered skeet shoots, and leagues for trap and skeet. After a session on the fields or a trek through the course, visitors can retire to the clubhouse or restock their reserves of ammo, apparel, or rental shotguns at the pro shop.

The owners of Corona Pumpkin Farm weren?t setting out to build a business in the fall of 2009. They just wanted to cultivate fresh, healthy produce for their family. So they began sowing seeds in box gardens, nourishing the soil with compost from chickens that also bore fresh eggs, and the occasional golden one. Eventually, the chickens? bounty outgrew the boxed gardens, and the humble family endeavor flourished into Corona Pumpkin Farm, which sits atop more than an acre of land. Now the farmers nurture more than 50 types of pumpkins for eating and carving, as well as a cornucopia of fruits and veggies that includes three types of corn and pick-your-own boysenberries. Along with the produce, they raise chickens and turkeys for meat, gather eggs from the coop, and sometimes barter with neighbors for beef and pork.

To show their respect for Mother Nature and their own health, they prefer to use organic solutions first, avoiding chemicals on their garden grub whenever possible. But visitors don?t flock to the farm just for the fresh, healthy fare; they come to pick their own pumpkins, meander through the 10-foot-high stalks that fill a half-acre corn maze, and enjoy other seasonal activities, such as cuddling baby chicks, zooming down an inflatable slide, painting pumpkins, and crafting personalized trick-or-treat bags.

At Wings of Valor LLC, chief pilot Daniel Wotring whisks passengers into the sky aboard a WWII-era Douglas DC-3 plane. The plane has a had a storied airborne career; before joining the company's fleet, it flew over Normandy on D-day and dropped paratroopers into Sicily. Nowadays, tourists strap into its restored interior for scenic flights over the Chino Valley or a bird's-eye view of local holiday displays.

It would be pretty hard to reach Mach 1 speeds sludging through a pit of mud. The Mach 1 Mud Run is actually named for its beneficiary, the Corona Pilot's Association at the Corona Municipal Airport, which is in regular need of improvements thanks to its location in a natural flood plain. Participants can help raise those funds by signing up for the race, which is 3.5-mile course complicated by professionally-built obstacles and mud pits. Spectators can pass the time jamming out to onsite music from K-FROG, then meet up with runners afterwards for an awards ceremony with beer and food.

In support of her high-decibel new album, Rihanna kicks off her hotly anticipated LOUD tour with emphatic gusto and a sizzling roster of special guests. Like an art show at a sundae bar, the LOUD tour floods the senses, enchanting audiences with lavishly designed sets, myriad costume changes, move-busting dancers, and Rihanna's songbook of Grammy magnets. Crooner Cee Lo Green augments the songful offerings with his own vocal talents, and Roc Nation rapper and rhythm scientist J. Cole further helps resuscitate ear drums traumatized by the outside world's blaring car horns and shrill howler monkeys.

Baseball in San Bernardino dates back to 1899. More than a century's worth of history includes such team names as the Kittens and the Pioneers. It also includes a drought from 1950?1987, during which the city lacked enough dirt to build a baseball field. That drought ended when the San Bernardino Spirit began play as part of the California League.

In 1996, the Spirit became the Stampede, and in 2003, the Stampede became the 66ers, a name chosen in honor of the historic U.S. Route 66 that is famous for its hitchhiking umpires. Over the years, the 66ers organization has spent time as the Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Mariners, Dodgers, and most recently, the Angels. The team has brought honor to each of its MLB partners, as it has won six California League championships since 1995.
