Big Shell Bikes bestows coastal riders with maintained bicycles for self-propelled adventures through the scenic area. Riders can climb atop cruiser-style bikes such as women’s medium Huntington Beach bike or men’s large Electra Cruisers to propel themselves around Port Aransas’ awe-inducing views of sandy shores, rolling waves, and heavily guarded sand castles. Big Shell maintains its fleet of pedal-powered transports with only industry-known cruiser-brand parts, such as Schwinn and Huffy, to ensure smooth, solid rides. Additionally, Grouponers can opt to apply their vouchers toward the rental of a sand bike ($53 a day), an eight-speed steed equipped with thick tires designed to glide through sandy shores without bogging down or accumulating itchy grains between bike crevices.

Bay Area Bicycles owner Tom Neagli, a cycling savant certified by the League of American Bicyclists, stocks his glass-fronted store with a staff of savvy two-wheelers and a wide variety of bike-friendly accessories. Keep trusty pedaled steeds in tip-top shape with a minor bicycle tune-up, which includes an adjustment of your velocipede's front and back brakes, derailleurs, and lingering aches brought on by nagging ingrown tires. Any additional or new parts can then be sutured on for an extra fee.

The Golf Shop, an 18-year veteran of the Texas golf scene, sells and services golf gear and specializes in tailoring irons to its patrons’ swings. The process hinges on an in-house expert with more than two decades’ experience, who analyzes golfers’ styles before customizing the stiffness of a brand-name shaft selected specifically for them, from makers such as UST and Lamkin. When finished clubs arrive, the shop’s coach can help patrons convert their new irons into improved scores or makeshift shovels for burying spare house keys.

Alternatively, technicians can rehabilitate the clubs customers already own with re-shafting, re-gripping, and complete rebuilding services, all of which take three days at most to complete. After a run through the shop’s stock of new and lightly used gear, patrons can replace any obsolete gear, or pick up accessories such as tees, balls, and golf bags ideal for storing secret turf clod collections. :m]]

Like many happy tales, Diamond Candles’ story begins with two people madly in love with each other. David, having used all of his savings to purchase a diamond ring for his wife Brenda on their anniversary, was in the grocery store on the hunt for a gift bag in which to stow it. Having no luck, he scooped up a candle as an additional present and headed out of the store. As Dave walked back to his car, a strange idea popped into his head: what if there was a way to hide the ring inside the candle, so it would be revealed by the slow melting of the wax? In 2010, Dave and Brenda founded Diamond Candles to finally make Dave's daydream a reality. From the beginning, the duo has built their business on earth-friendly practices: they make their wax with soybeans grown by local farmers, and handcraft each candle using cotton wicks. Nestled within each glowing pillar, a ring worth anywhere between $10 and $5,000 waits to surprise the gift recipient with its eye-catching glimmer and ability to summon flocks of friendly magpies. Besides the hidden bangles, each candle also fills rooms with a strong scent in aromas such as honeysuckle or Fresh Snow.
