Becky Kern began teaching dance classes in her basement in 1961. She had just five students who paid a mere $5 a month, but before long the tapping of toes had her neighbors complaining so she opened Becky Kern's Dance Studio. Today, Becky's daughter-in-law and granddaughter keep the studio running smoothly whether teaching 3 year olds how to move creatively with their bodies or coaching teens on the competitive dance team. Six days a week, groups gather to practice tumbling, jazz, and contemporary dance moves in front of the studio's full-length mirrors, where students can follow along with instructors. BYOB ballroom-dancing classes are also available for adults, who can pop corks and learn swirling steps during fun, engaging classes.

Kids can experience the sensation of weightlessness over and over again at Kids World Gymnastics, which counts an in-ground trampoline amongst its 19,000 square feet of gymnastics equipment. Kids can experiment with backflips an tumbles on the trampoline, which has a foam pit around it to ensure safety. There's also a preschool section where younger kids can play comfortably without the threat of a noogie. Classes feature expert instructors that teach age-appropriate tricks as well as skill-specific maneuvers for gymnastics or cheerleading.

When Olympiad Gymnastic Training Centers opened its doors for the first time, it counted only 16 students on its roster. That was in 1979, and more than 30 years in business later, the gym has grown considerably. It now counts 10 locations and more than 150 employees to its name. Despite the changes to its size, the training centers maintain the original gym's mission to help children find health, happiness, and confidence through gymnastics. Olympiad's areas of study, open to boys and girls, include not only gymnastics, but tumbling, cheerleading, and trampolining.
