Through the use of proper exercise form and technique, students can learn to unleash their hidden potential at Warrior Fitness. The instructors specialize in a variety of workout methodologies. Exercisers build reserves of strength using kettlebells, elevate their heart rates with circuit training, or devastate six-foot heavy bags using a variety of kickboxing strikes and withering insults. Specialized sessions tailor workouts to varying skill and fitness levels, although virtually every class aims to provide a total-body workout that helps tone muscles and increase cardiovascular health.
Karate West is one of the largest martial arts schools in the country. Inside the 9,000-square-foot Issaquah training facility or the Mercer Island branch, kids and adults learn classic karate and self-defense moves, while also developing self-respect and discipline for both themselves and one another. Certified instructors lead students through traditional belt programs designed for kids as young as three, as well a specialized programs such as a women's only course, combat hapkido course, and a weapons program where students learn how to properly wield a bo, cane, sword, and loaded seltzer bottle.

With a specialty in martial arts, the instructors at Bellevue School of Arts work closely with kids in pre-kindergarten through middle school to improve all aspects of their development. The after-school and summer programs give youth the opportunity to develop focus, self-esteem, and discipline during engaging activities. With more than 150 students currently enrolled, they offer a traditional, individualized and coordinated curriculum from grade to grade, with an emphasis on core subjects that range from piano lessons and fine arts to Chinese and tae kwon do. Tutoring services are also available to help kids with their homework during the school year and mischief lessons during the summer.
At Eastside Kickboxing's gym, a group of students perform hip-twisting kicks, connecting hard with 6-foot Thai-style heavy bags before pummeling them with quick jabs. For 60?75 minutes, they perform intense cardio-kickboxing combinations. Eastside's team of instructors lead this combination, helping clients slim down, boost stamina and energy, and sculpt all muscle groups. To keep things interesting, trainers also may infuse routines with weightlifting and unique cardio exercises, both designed to further goals of losing weight or intensify workouts.
