As years go by, analog media such as videotape begin to decay, slowly withering away until they finally become unsalvageable. Fortunately, the digitization experts at Reel Pro Video prevent weddings, birthdays, and the series finale of Kojak from fading into oblivion, transferring VHS, Beta, 8mm, and other outdated formats onto DVD. The staff can also digitize slides and pictures, as well as create digital photomontages—complete with background music. Reel Pro Video works with clients throughout the United States; its customers can mail in tapes and pictures.

The celluloid specialists at ScanDigital have processed more than 15 million images since 2007, turning grainy 3"x5" photos and dented VHS tapes into dependable digital files that fill the future with images of a warm and wonderful past. To start a safe, digital archive so home videos of first-grade choir solos don't turn into terrifying, chipmunk-attracting warbles, customers go online to fill out a form that generates a shipping label, and then mail their prized materials. Once parcels are received, staffers liberate the images and footage of dust and blemishes, scan them in, then adjust the orientation and color balance of the newly hatched digital files. After four or more weeks, depending on the order, customers get back the original copies along with their new, high-quality clones on DVD, ensuring that significant moments aren't stained and faded by Father Time’s clumsy coffee spills.

The shutterbug instructors at Shoot Like A Pro cement photographic know-how into their clients’ craniums through technical lessons and onsite practice. During workshops and excursions, students first learn to manipulate their own cameras, picking up tips about ISO, f-stop, shutter speed and composition before testing their skills during two hours of shooting time. Shoot Like A Pro’s events lend themselves to all types of digital cameras as well as to beginner photographers and more experienced students looking to refresh their skills.

Q&A with Amy Soto, Owner

What sets your business apart from your competition?

What sets Artzy Love apart from our competitors is that we specialize in taking artwork and turning it into masterpieces. We don't just print and ship. We take our time and design the right piece for our clients using their artwork.

What was the inspiration for starting this business?

As a mother, I have spent countless hours trying to organize the drawings and projects my child colors and paints. It's difficult to part with them, but they clutter up. Like every other parent in the world, I tried the countless organization tips found on Pinterest. Turns out you still end up with a montage of paper everywhere. I wanted a streamlined piece of artwork that contained multiple pieces so I could have just that one large piece to admire. It was then that Artzy Love was born.

What is the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a customer?

I had a grandmother call me up after seeing what I designed for her daughter's four girls. She wanted exact duplicates.

What?s your favorite part about your job?

I have been a graphic designer and illustrator for nearly 20 years. I have worked in various corporations and even the military sector, but designing masterpieces out of children's artwork is my favorite. I feel that instilling a love of art and showcasing a child's work can lead them down a path of confidence and self assurance that can carry them throughout their life with a positive approach.
