In the late 1970s career educators Eileen and Raymond Huntington opened the first Huntington Learning Center in Oradell, New Jersey. Their goal was to take an individualized approach to education, adjusting instructional tactics according to each student's set of needs. Their success in helping K–12 students prepare for exams and improve grades and study skills quickly spawned franchises across New York and New Jersey.
Today, the certified Huntington tutoring staff utilizes testing and rubrics for assessing each child's skills, academic needs, and potential for growth. The teachers even note the student's behavior in different testing and academic situations to craft a methodology sensitive to each child's learning style. Teachers also adhere to the company's code of ethics that stresses professionalism and confidentiality and encourages pupils to improve their grades honestly through dedicated study rather than shortcuts.
As the head doctor at Animal Clinic of Canarsie, Dr. Gusmorino works with a trained staff as he treats pets ranging from dogs and cats to reptiles. Dr. Gusmorino learned how to nurture animals back to health at the Universita di Parma in Italy. Now that he lives in the States, he divides his time between his practice and caring for his own beloved animals at home: a cat, a guinea pig, a turtle, and ferrets. The pet doc can perform a variety of services, from medical and surgical treatments to dental services and microchip implantation. Dr. Gusmorino is also the owner of Pete's Pet Supplies, the pet shop next door to his clinic, where animals and their owners can get food, toys, and Canine-English dictionaries.
School of Walk's pet-care specialists take dogs on walks when their owners are busy or out of town, limiting each walk to three dogs so that they can provide focused attention while teaching basic training commands. They can also schedule private, in-home training sessions for dogs and care for dogs, cats, birds, and other small animals overnight. When staffers visit homes to care for pets, they also water plants and collect mail for no additional charge.
Kiki's Pet Spa & Boutique is a full service dog care business offering our pet customers: grooming, daycare, boarding, dog walking, cat sitting, behavioral training, pet-portraiture & photography, and on-site veterinary care provided by Dr. Pamella Dendtler, in addition we also have a pet boutique.
Since dog is man's best friend, then dog (and possibly cat) deserves man's best grooming, toys, apparel, ink cartridges, 3D glasses, and more. Today's Groupon gets you $75 worth of premier pet-pampering, hairstyling (dye your puppy screaming pink if you like), toys, and pet accessories at The Salty Paw, located in the Financial District. The downtown pet center, featured in Time Out New York and New York magazine, is a luxury oasis for the stress-ridden pet worried about the college application process or an impending marriage.
The DoggyDASH facilities boast grooming stations where dogs receive the full pampering experience: haircuts, baths, brushing, nail clipping, and ear cleaning. And, to make the styling process as smooth as possible, pet-loving groomers maintain a calm, welcoming disposition during each appointment. This dedication to canine comfort is standard of all services at the pet boutique. The staff accommodates dogs for daycare visits as well as longer boarding stays, both of which entail three walks a day for every pup, a more fun workout than playing fetch with a sandbag. Even canines that aren't checked in can still benefit from dog walking services around the city—30-minute "fun walks" and 60-minute "park walks" depart from owner's homes, with complimentary pick-up and drop-off for any residence below 90th street.
